I have a superchips microtuner and I lost the instruction book that says which fuse to pull before plugging it in for changes. Does anyone know? I need to reset this thing next weekend for my 4:10 gear. I think it was the fuel pump fuse or something. I know the car won't start without this fuse or run or something. Thanks

The instructions call for pulling the fuel pump fuse I believe. "BUT" I never had to pull any fuses when swapping the program in and out with my
SC9100. I think that was only valid when doing the Mustang.......

Not necessary since out system is "returnless" and the pump doesn't run after the system is pressurized!!;)
Just plug 'er in and load the program......But do turn off the obvious....radio, air, etc.
Good Luck!!

I belive you are instructed to pull a couple fuses because you leave the ignition on while loading the program. If the battery is weak you could lose the tune. By not sending current to cooling fan and such you can rest easy your batterry will hold up.

PULL THE FUSE!!!! I had the 1725 tuner in my car for a month and it tells you as the unit is loading to pull it before you do anything else.
Its under the hood but I dont remember which one since I upgraded to a Xcal.
I can find out and post if you still have a problem.

Two SCT 9100s at work here, and for a few years. Never pulled a fuse.

It seems that the superchips microtuner is the only one that makes you pull out the FP fuse, its even in the manual with the location of it.
On my old Avalanche the Hypertech hand tuner required the Onstar fuse to be pulled during the upload, it said in the manual that onstar will sometimes scan the engine at any given time and will interfere with the upload.
My SCT Xcal tuner is just plug and play.

I was told via alternative it wasn't needed. My car was night and day when I uploaded it. It was also night and day when I disconected the - terminal on instal of K&N with tune already loaded. Guess we can get Lidio and Dennis in this to cast the finnal say, since they are both the tunning venders of the tuner in question.

Yes Superchips tells you to pull the Fuel pump fuse. And you are correct on the reasoning. Basically you are flashing your cars BIOS. If the battery runs down while you are doing so your ECM will be useless. It will have no info to tell the cars components what to do. It would be the same as trying to run your car with the ECM removed, it ain't gonna happen.

....or you can take my word on this: Both Lidio and Dennis have loaded tunes into my car, in my presence...neither one pulls any fuses.

The SCT Xcal and the Xcal2 are different then the Superchips microtuner.

Fuel pump fuse sounds right. I'll just pull it like I always have been simply because I have been free of problems. As long as I have been following the instructions nothing bad has happened as suppose to the jet performance chip that wouldn't let me start the car because the car "thought" I was trying to steal it and I had to get new keys. Then again it wasn't me who was putting that chip in. The microtuner does it for me and I'll keep using it the way as instructed. Thank you everyone!

I just went through this today after doing my 3.73's
Its relay #203
There is a row of 4. Its the 2nd one down. Direction going from the back of the car. 3rd one back of you're going from the front. Also be carefull pulling it out or the top cap will come off leaving just the relay. That was a pain in the ass. The Microtuner will make you do this. I tried doing this without pulling it and it wouldn't load the tune. If this dosn't help I'll go take a pic tomorrow morning and e-mail it to you. Just give me your e-mail addy.
Also when you put it back in don't push it down all the way. So it will come out easier. Your shift points will be a little weird and you'll need to play with them. I had to today. With the 3.73's that microtune had me shifting out of 2nd at 5500rpm.
