Mercury estimated it would sell 12,000 to 18,000 Marauders in 2002. Instead, this muscle car turned out to be anemic—just 2910 of them were sold, and that was with a $3000 cash-back deal. Do you think people found out a V-6 Honda Accord is quicker?

Sure - if you think the race ends at 60 MPH.
Oh, and that article is a bit off, IMO. :D

Dennis...you need to tell everyone where you got your shirt you were wearing at the ATL Tuning Session. For those of you that weren't there.
Black T-shirt...on the front "It's a Fact"
on the back..."your Honda SUCKS!"

Mermar2003 thanks for pointing out the article to us. Most of us read it months ago. If your interest is sincere stick around you are welcome here and we can tell you a few easy things to do to a Marauder where you can beat a Honda or a heck of alot of other cars of your choice with ease. If your post was to try and stir us up over an old article.......(Yawn)........It didn't work.

Well, if you think the CD article is correct, bring your honda over.
I wonder how much a new honda sells for? What could I get for it after winning it?

No, mermar2003 what this means is that C&D is like over 2 seconds off on thier 0-60 time for the Marauder.

That article is way off, IMHO unlike the reviews at edmunds.com. I've found myself in agreement with edmund's reviews of the cars I've owned nearly 100% of the time. I totally lost faith in CD when they put a 4 cylinder mystique/contour up against the competition's 6 cylinder models, then concluded that the mystique/contour wasn't a good choice because it lacked the performance of the competition, even though the Mystique/Contour offered a 6 cylinder model. They are biased frogs and will do anything to stack the deck against an American car, seemingly to the point of lying at times...

The Honda V-6 Accord EX is a great midsise car.Is transmission is the smoothest I every driven. And it's speed is excellent to a point that it accellerates with out any effort. But,it's not even in the same class as a Marauder.I have far more fun driving the Marauder. The Marauder attracts "car guys" who like real American style cars.Yea there are faster and more expensive europeon cars out there but there is something about the "merc" that throws me back to the old days. The old saying "They don't build like they use to" is wrong They now build a Marauder!:)

Well put. My beef is only with the bias, not the reality. Honda makes a great car, no doubt about it. I'm thankful for the stiff competition from overseas - without it, we'd still be driving stuff that was junkyard ready at 100k.
