Gent's, first time posting a new thread.
Need help with oil in the coolant. Had car at l/m dealer with 24643,they pressure tested and checked head gasket. did a coolant flush and replaced oil adapter gasket. At 27612 l/m changed oil and filter and check gasket everything ok. Now at 29212 i got's oil in coolant again. L/m did a coolant flush to remove remaining oil out of system. l/m checked oasis nothing showed about oil in coolant.
Found on the internet information about replacing gasket but that was on a 4.6 2v not a 4v.
Can anybody shed some light on this problem.

Oil in coolant is a bad thing.... maybe just some oil leftover from the first flush.... maybe a crack in the block? Does the coolant level ever go down?

First of all. Welcome aboard.
Definitely not good.
Was that engine oil or trans. fluid?

Thank's for the welcome.
look's like engine oil, and there was 3000 miles between flushes.
Would oil show up 2 month's after first flush?

Jack,
What's your oil look like? I'd expect such a crossflow from a headgasket or a crack in the block to have some coolant showing up in your oil as well. Oil will show as milky with trapped water/coolant in it. Are you getting any of that sickening sweet type odor from your exhaust? Not much help I know -- just trying to pinpoint your problem. Can't think of any other way for oil and coolant to mix unless there was an inadvertant contamination of the coolant.

I would see if the service manager would get the zone representative in on this.
BTW, Welcome aboard.

well usually you see this with a bad oil cooler but i dont believe marauders have them........really there is no other spot for this to happen than the head or head gasket. oil pressure is higher than cooling system pressure and basically wins the battle forcing oil into the coolant. id say the heads would have to be removed and pressure tested to determine the cause.

engine running oil pressure will push oil into the coolant..
sitting hot coolant pressure will push coolant into the oil galleries
an clean pan and pull the oil drain..coolant will be the first component
out..milky residue on the dipstick, inside rocker cover ie PCV valve,oilfiller..
sounds like heagasket..loose headbolts or warped cylinder head..
Somecars will have erratic temperature guage readings...
Adding black light trace too the oil if it shows up in coolant
you still have a problem..haven't actuallly tried this but it
should work..

I had a problem like yours a while ago. Had the cooling system flush 3 times , pressure tested they couldn't find where the problem was. RoyLpita had a idea, oil filter and lower radiator hose are conected on a housing conected to the engine block. That housing gasket is very thin and sometimes the oil sipes through their. Well the dealer took it of and it ended up being the problem. Now everything has been good for over 10,000 miles. I hope this idea help's.

Was this on your MM? Our thermostats are in the radiator hoses...

Was this on your MM? Our thermostats are in the radiator hoses... Sorry my mistake. Their is a housing where the oil filter and the lower radiator hose are conected too. That housing goes to the engine block and the gasket's are very thin and sometimes leak.

IIRC Cobra25 is reffering to the oil filter adapter gasket, however, he said this has already been changed.

IIRC Cobra25 is reffering to the oil filter adapter gasket, however, he said this has already been changed. On my Marauder They replaced Both the Oil Cooler Housing & Gasket. The rep at the dealer told me they replaced the housing too because sometimes in rare case's the housing is bad from the factory.( Fordfrk's Marauder they replaced only the gasket). My Dealer didn't want to take any chance's. MY problem was minor because it just started and very little oil got in my antifreeze. Had it done with 8549 mile's on it and now I have 21 K and no problems.
I am getting ready to swap my stock oil filter adapter to the new block. I can take a pic tonite if anyone wants to see any detail of that spot.
