Hold off for a day or two. I need to get you and linda on the phone. She can do a UPS return, will call, pick up kind of thing from work where you won't have to fork out any green backs for shipping. :)

You don't need to drop the tank to replace the fuel pump, I used the Claude method after calling Shakes.

I will be doing that on the lift with a retired Ford master tec. Just in case, care to expound, or is there a link you can post? :)

Got a lot done Sunday. Procharger is in and plumbed, Fuel pump is swapped, and tune loaded.

Still have to change the fuel injectors and find a vacuum sorce for the surge valve control.

BJ, you're almost there... good job so far!

My bypass valve is teed into the vacuum line going to the injector pressure sensor (IPS). The IPS is mounted on top and forward end of the passenger side fuel rail. My boost gauge is also tied in right there.

Looks like another evening and you'll have this knocked out. Just ease into it the first time out and listen for anything weird - then let the fun begin!

BJ your install is looking real good! After you get it running you might as well go down and get another set of tires.....The ones on the car will be toast:burn: real soon.

teamrope

I had to drive the car to work today. With the vacume line to the surge valve not installed yet it was... intresting. Got it hooked up this evening, and me likey so far. I swapped to the cooler motocraft plugs when I installed the 4.10's. Think I should change the plugs?

I do need to have an adjustment made on the tune. It acts like the speedo is set for 3.55's, not 4.10's. Seems to read about 5 or 6 MPH faster than what I'm going at 50 MPH. I haven't read the manuel to see if I can do that on the tuner yet.

Marauderjack
08-01-2006, 03:24 AM
You can change the "Revs Per Mile" or get Dave to send you a "4.10 Tune"....either will work but for shift point accuracy have Dave send you the correct tune......VROOOOOOOM!!!:bows:

Be Ye CAREFUL.....GOOD LUCK!!

BJ, if you have the 22C plugs you're alright. Just make sure you gap them according to the recommendations... 0.032" - 0.035" IIRC. If they don't look as good as new I'd go ahead and replace them though.

I should have warned you about hooking up the bypass valve before driving the car. The bypass actuates under intake manifold vacuum to allow plenty of idle air and also to relieve boost back to the blower when the throttle closes right after WOT. I bet the idle really "sucked" with the bypass closed, lol (groan).

I still have a couple of tweaks to make befor I start hammering on it.

I drove Linda's car in the car club challenge last night. Went out in the 1st round (too many people driving threw the water box, not around it) 60 ft time went up by 1/10th, missed my dial in by 5/100ths.

After that I put all the junk back in the trunk, aired the tires back up and still got a 14.5 out of her. :)
