Kind of lost at the end of the Addco EBC group buy is an offer from Dennis for MMX Driveshaft group buy for $475 with free shipping for 5 orders or more. Current commitments are:

Killjoy?

NOTE: SEE DENNIS' POST ON DRIVE SHAFT PERFORMANCE

Anyone else. The 70% safety factor is right about highway speed for anyone with 4.10's whether there is felt vibration or not. Everyone who visits the drag strip or race track should be seriously considering this mod. IMHO Dennis

Raise back-end of car on ramps or jackstands.
Remove 4 pinion flange bolts.
Slide old D/S from transmission tailshaft.
Slide new D/S into transmission tailshaft.
Re-install pinion flange bolts, using Loctite, and torque to 84 ft/lbs.
Lower car.

I suppose it's not going to get any cheaper for a while. I've also been considering this for quite some time.

Add me as well, if it's not too late.

Dumb question number one:
When the D/S is slid from the transmission, will transmission fluid start running out?

Some trannys do that, but I'm not educated enough to know if they all do.

Yes, especially if the car is level. Be prepared for fluid spill. Heres an idea:

:thinker:
Get a deep trans pan and install at the same time. :D

Too late. Dennis already sold me one!

(It's time to drain the pan and re-fill. I figure draining the pan every year will get enough fluid changed to keep me in good shape)

My thoughts exactly! The detroit trip and MV4 in November, trips to the track, and...

I really want to take this car onto a road course. :bigcry: Where my speeds will remain high for long periods.

Besides, nothing good can come from a broken driveshaft. Thats why I also went with a D/S loop.

Good news. Been away all day. Will call Jackie in the morning. This makes a lot of sense especially if you have 4.10s or above, run at the Drag strip and especially if you run road tracks. Sebring was an great experience that convinced me that the Metal Matrix and a Drive Shaft Loop should be on the shopping list. I guess that the X pipe would support the DS but who knows what force might be involved should it decide it wants pogo down the track-could take the exhaust system with it. Thanks for the support for this GB. Dennis:beer:

Good call, Charlie. I did those before the Sebring adventure. I have no way of knowing if the effect is more than peace of mind but is seems that the more volumn of tranny fluid the cooler it should run. I still have not gotten my secondary cooler installed but perhaps this weekend.:D Dennis
