Any suggestions on how to re secure the spoiler, only 14 inches on one end has come loose. I was thinking of using a self tapping sheet metal screw thru the trunk into the spoiler to draw it tight to the trunk. Is this a good idea?

You should not be relying on the 3M sticky tape by itself. If it isn't already screwed on, maybe you'd better take it off and start again, though you'll need more sticky tape. Directions are very straight forward.

Directions are very straight forward. The spoiler was on the car when I bought it, The rest of the spoiler is very secure. I prefer not to remove it and reattach, thats why I thought of just screwing the loose end.

There are already holes drilled in the back of the spoiler. I don't know if just trying to screw another one in would end up cracking the spoiler. Maybe drilling a pilot hole from the inside of the trunk into the back of the spoiler would work. Sounds like it wasn't put on right. If you're interested in the template for install, I can email it to you. Marauder03@comcast.net

I was thinking of using a self tapping sheet metal screw thru the trunk into the spoiler to draw it tight to the trunk. Is this a good idea?It *might* work, for a short time. The spoiler is vacuum-formed foam and I doubt a sheet-metal screw will hold for long. The tape is only to provide a measure of weather-proofing and should NOT be depended upon to hold the spoiler in place. That's why 4 mounting bolts are supplied. The original installer should have his ass kicked... :shake:
I would strongly urge you to remove the spoiler and re-install it properly before you go over a speed-bump and find it in the road...

Bunny and RF are right on the money. I had the same problem with my spoiler install. I recommend that you have bunny send you the install templates. Look on the inside of the trunk lid. You should find holes or plastic covers for 1" holes. The mounting bolts are behind them and bolt into the threads in the spoiler. If the Ahole installer mis-drilled an access hole, especially on the ends; he could not get a socket on the bolt head. Ergo loose end over time. Only cure, get the template, drill a new access hole with a hole saw so that you can install the mounting bolt in that end of the spoiler. If indeed there are no bolts in the spoiler it will fall off. Good luck. Dennis

The spoiler will come loose over time no matter how good it is installed.
Deal with it.
