Here is my wifes combo. Lidio tune, 4.10 gears, zach and mach rear control arms And a cattless H pipe. I was wondering if anybody else has a similar combo and what torque converter you are runing and what stall it is. It will see a 100 shot of nitrous and I hope to run a high 12 with it.

Also anybody ever find a good price on a lock up torque converter and where did you get it????

I purchased the PI Stallion 3000 stall from Reinhart performance.
Hes having a summer special and his price is better then anyones else's.
I have 4.10s, a tune and many bolt-on parts. My car is also a daily driver so I stayed with the lower stall. Many members have raved about a 3500 stall but I havent seen any evidence in how much of a improvement over the 3000 stall

I have a good friend that had a tune, same gears, stock exhaust and stock converter. Ran 12.8's on 100 shot and 12.6' on 125 shot.....stock tires and wheels.

My point is if you want a converter buy it....you don't need it to run 12's.
The converter of choice among Marauder owners is the PI 3000 or 3500.

I have a PI 3,500 Stall.

Don't notice it is there except when backing up she needs more gas. Zack claims a .2 reduction over 3,ooo.

The only proble you will have is a traction problem, as in you won't have any.

I got a 4 tenths of a second reduction in quarter times with my 3000 and it was really hot that day. They do what they say they do.

A high stall converter is definitely worth every penny for performance mod. If you're planning to put in a S/C in the future then I would go with a 3000 stall unit otherwise I would go with 3500. You will definitely be smoking the rear tires with this mod.
Expect to pay about $700 for a PI unit. If you want to save a little dough you could get a B&M or Edge Racing for about $575. Go for the PI unit if you can swing the price. You can do a search online and get various prices. The cost of installation will be about $250-350.

For you guys that have the converters: What do you feel is the best way to handle the lock-up schedule of the converter? Do you think that the J mod is needed or are the shifts still crisp? (I prefer hard shifts) I am really interested in this mod if I would be able to keep driveability close to what it is now.

My schedule is 4th at 50, lock-up at 55. Under 55, no lock-up. I do get a lot of up and down shifting in the upper 30's to mid 40's, but it only bothers my wife. I have a 3000 stall PI. My shifts are very firm, 2nd gear chirps the rears on near full to full throttle.
