I would like to know your oppinion of the kenny bell boost a spark setup for boosted applications vs screamin deamon coil packs. I am wondering if it would be better for me to get the screamin deamon coil packs or use the stock coil packs and a kenny bell boost a spark setup and jump the voltage up to 14.5 volts or higher under boost. I am concerned that the higher out put of the coils all the time might cause problems vs the uped output just under boost.

What have others done?

What your thoughts?

Doesn't anyone have any thoughts or opions on this topic?

Im open minded and interested...

Is going either way just a waste of money?

improving spark/voltage/whatever on our cars is a waste of time, the current stock system does an excellent job.

On other forum such as mustang forum this is a commonly asked question and I have heard various answers.

I agree the stock system is wonderful. Ford did it right.

....but what if any advantage do these options give you?
Will it even give you 1hp? maybe a ft/lbs?

You would probably notice a larger power improvement by taking the spare out of the trunk.

Some how I think your right....

I've just have heard alot of talk about it on other forums and was wondring what peoples opinions are here were....

I haven't changed the stock ford system on any of my vehicles....
I think Ford does a wonderful job with their electronic ignitions....

If anything I think they run more reliable at higher RPM then even MSD stuff.
I have more people complain about problems with aftermarket/MSD products then the stock ford equipment....

Some of us have tinkered with improving the coil-pak connection with the spark plug, and I belive the popular opinion was that a partial improvement was productive. The product tested was the Grannatelli COP connectors, a 100 buck or so mod that smoothed out a lot of minor spark related issues for many of us. Not all, mind you, but the majority of those making the change reported satisfactory results, myself included. I'm very pleased with changes in engine idle and throttle tip-in and respons at low RPMs. Dyno gains? Nah, not even worth testing for that. Just better all around response.

The full monty from Grannatelli includes a coil-pac upgrade, however, there are fitment issue with the stock coil covers, and some mention of a change in wiring. I'm not clear on all that, but I think only FordNut has tried the full mod. Maybe others have as well?

I'm not familiar with the "Screamin Demon" product you ask about here, I don't know much about it at all. I know enough about the KB- BAS to suggest that if I felt it necessary to improve the spark, and not wanting to get into the difficulties apparent with the full Granatelli treatment, I'd try the BAS first.

So, I'll ask you. What's up with the Screamin Demon kit? What changes does it bring to the Marauder ignition table, and what do you expect for that sweat?

There is a review of the screamin demon coil packs on this web site.
http://reviews.stangnet.com/showproduct.php?product=100&sort=1&cat=11

According to the review:
Open up your spark plug gaps to a whopping.065" when you install Screamin' Demon Coils! By producing a fatter spark, fuel is burned more efficiently and power is gained. No drop off in power as RPM's go up. Your spark plugs stay cleaner longer. The Screamin' Demon Coil Packs are easy to install, mounting in the original equipment location. They are completely epoxy filled for improved heat transfer and vibration resistant. With gains like 9.6 Horsepower & 10.2 lbs-ft of Torque on 5.0s and .2 sec quicker 0-60 bursts on the 4.6s, it is easy to see why they call it Firepower Ignition!

I will try and dig up some more info....

So you like the Grannatelli COP connectors. I had seen those a while back and completely forgot about them. Maybe thats worth looking into some more too.

Anyone else have an opinion?

anyone else install the complete Grannatelli kit?

Funny as it may be, when I was searching for more info about the granatelli COP, I saw that there were 2 group buys from MM.net that were talked about by JUNO on another forum. I think it was the MACH1 forum. They were telling people on that forum to jump in on the group buy on our forum.
LOL

I guess these connectors must be pretty good....

Loco, you DO realise those are coil packs, and that the Marauder uses COPs, right? Or are you not talking about a Marauder? Put your vehicle in your sig so we can help you better...
