Good question.
It probably depends on how fast your running (?)

According to what I was told at an NHRA sanctioned track here in Florida, any car running a a non-oem supercharger, or, nitrous or a turbo(s) requires a fire resistant racing jacket.
How much it is being enforced at various tracks is another question.

Get the G Force single layer jacket and you will be covered unless you are driving the much rumored and talked about 9 second Marauder.

Ayah, Rich; and a crash hat. They did not enforce at Bradenton I think because it was a private event. Don't know what the enforcement will be at Gainsville tho I think I recall that they did require helmets at Reiharts meet but not positive. Everything gets hazy at my age. Dennis

At Gainesville they will enforce NHRA rules. Which means, helmet (has to be the updated version, check NHRA rulebook), drive-shaft loop and racing jacket (S/C, Turbo, N2O) for everyone running 13.00 or quicker.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2005, a roll bar and an SFI 16.1 driver-restraint system will be mandatory on any vehicle running 11.49 or quicker and for convertibles running 13.49 or quicker. An SFI 3.2A/1 jacket will be mandatory for all drivers in vehicles running between 10.00 to 11.49 seconds. On any car running 11.49 or quicker, a flywheel and clutch meeting SFI Spec 1.1 or 1.2 and a flywheel shield meeting SFI Spec 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, or 9.1 will be mandatory. A driveshaft loop will be required on all cars running 13.99 or quicker and utilizing slicks, except vehicles equipped with street tires running 11.49 or slower.
Have the driveshaft loop rule changed for 2006?

So since Nitto Drag radials are not slicks, cars running them are inthe clear.
That said, I am still installing mine (D/S loop). These rules are probably the direct result of a wreck!
