Hey CAMers, there maybe a car show in the Baltimore area at a Hooters in October. The Mustang Club of Maryland is working on the details with a Hooters (forgive me, I do not recall which one right now) to put on a show. I spoke to the club VP yesterday. He is looking at a Sunday towards the end of the month. This sounds like a good time.

I will be attending the next club meeting this week and will forward details.

What I would like to know from you all is, is this group interested in a meet at a Hooters? I understand the big two questions of when and where will determine commitments.

I know this may sound strange, but some people are offended by "owls" and dont want anything to do them. I would understand that persons desire to aviod a Hooters meet.

So what do you all think? Marauders, Mustangs and Fords meet at Hooters?

What a coincidence. I will definitely be there to check out the old stomping grounds. That address is right in the same block near the old Orchard Inn. I spent lots of time at the Orchard Ice Rink and Orchard Swimming pool in my teen years. :D Will be interesting to see how that area is changed.

Same old, same old Charlie, except for the absurb traffic. The Bel Loc diner is still going strong.
From the satellite photos on Google maps, it looks like alot of development between Joppa Road and the Beltway. Where's Luskins, where's the swimming pool, lots of parking lots and office buildings in areas that I recall as "the woods".

I remember the Bel Loc diner - but have never been in it. There should be one of the old original McDonald's right across the street from "Hooters". By old original -- I mean one that did not have inside seating -- all orders taken at an outside window and only benches built into the sides of the shop. Hamburgers were 10 cents and Cheeseburgers were 12 cents.

Anyway, I am hoping that the date and time (when it gets picked) can be worked into the schedule. I have several weddings to attend in Aug and Sep.

Guys, I've been quiet in this thread because I realized this event conflicts with something for me, but I'm not decided yet what I'll end up doing. I called to confirm and yes, my brother's going to be having a birthday celebration, he's 21 years old b-day party planned for Oct 29.

If we weren't so far away I'd just divert everyone to Hooters. :)

So anyway, I'm undecided, in reality I don't *have* to go to his b-day (he's going to be 21), though it's a good thing to do and sort of that brotherly-duty. Or I could send him my gift for the weekend or see him Saturday and bring him down a case of homebrew to make up for my absense.

I'm undecided what I should do, it sounds like it'll be a great even Sunday at Hooters...some folks there I haven't seen in some time.

I take it we haven't planned a Nov. event or Gettyburg/Catoctin Mt's trip yet, much less in the near future with MVIV and SSHS6...

So...that's where I stand, unsure where I'll end up Sunday at this point...

This weekend's Hooter's Show:

- is 10am to 3pm -
- the ravens game is on at 1pm - great place to watch it and eat some wings!
- it's the end of daylight savings time - so many may arrive an hour early if they are not careful!
- since the new lot next door is finished, the show will NOT be limited to FORD only - we now have room!
- the dash plaque order was not cost-effective at 50 (as originally advertised), so there actually are 100 plaques
- the costume contest AND the car show will be judged by the Hooter's girls

Jim, if the MM is out of service, drive a fish truck! I'm bringin the F250 if Defyant Marauder is still stuck in dry dock.

If you take 32, take the Route 1 North exit, their is a light on the off ramp and then another traffic light right up from their which is Route 1 and Guilford Rd. Right past the light is a Burger King and Shell gas station on the right. I can meet you at the Shell gas station like 7:50-8am. I may have a friend to pick up that would meet me at my shop which is about 6 miles up Route 1 in Elkridge and then we can hit the highway. I'll know tomorrow if he is going to be coming or not.

Hey thats fantastic bud!!

Again, bring your brother with ya! How about that classic Marauder. That'd be cool!!

I'm not sure if my dad can make this one, and even if he could I'm not sure he's comfortable with the '65 for such a long trip, from their house it's about 90 miles one-way.

It's running good, he just got valve covers back on, we pulled them off and I stripped and repainted them for him and we replaced leaking gaskets that were cuasing oil to seep onto the headers. Carb is still acting a bit odd, you have to feather it to get going, neither of us is an expert at tuning the Holley's though, so we may have to have a shop look at that...or better yet buy a book.

Other than that it seems to be running well but it hasn't gotten much road time with the new parts.

If I wasn't going Sunday one of the things I was going to try to do was schedule some cruise time with him, get some shakedown runs in the '65 with my Marauder following as a support vehicle. I'm sure it'll be ready for a long run come the snow-seaon.

There really is nothing finer than meeting up with a few Marauders on the side of the highway @0800 for a Marauder gathering on a fine sun-filled fall day. The weather was great. Nice looking cars all the way around. 63 1/2 Galaxie 500, 68 GT500KR stickout to me. It was good to put some faces with some names. Bigdog, G-Man, and (Holly ****) Dragcity from Buffalo. You r the man. You still are not home yet to read this post and its 9:00pm!! Kudos to Haggis for a nod to his fine looking KB#8. The only Marauder to get an award. When will the next meet be? Everyone have a great night...............:banana2:

Just a few side notes...

Was great seeing everyone, we had a great Marauder turnout as you can see. Also every meet we seem to find new members in CAM going S/C'd, the CAM contingent of blown Marauders is growing!

MarauderMark posted a picture of the judges, Hooter's waitresses in costumes. Gotta give them credit though for picking a good Marauder to award a top 17 to:

On a not so bright note, on the way up, the Southern CAM'ers met in Kingstowne. While chatting before departing I noticed the tow damage I experienced was worse than I originally thought...my bumper cover had been damaged further and the heat from my exhaust must have caused a cracked portion of paint to pop out:

But it was still a great day even with that!

Weather was nice BUT it was way too windy!

PS. If you didn't see my other pics go back 1 page!

It was good to see everyone again. Dragcity (Joe) wins the 'Bigdog Award' for the farthest driven Buffalo, NY. Way to go Joe and those are some meaty tires you have on your car. Oh, and thanks for the beer.

And congrats to Seneca and Jack for purchasing F.I.T kits numbers 20 & 21. Way to go guys. CAM is quickly becoming a S/C region. :woohoo:

On our way home after the show on I-70 after Sweetair pulled off we (Ladyhawk - in lead, myself, G-man & Merc) were cruising at around 80mph when this MD State trooper pulls up behind Merc. Merc told us later he almost wet his pants. Merc pulls over one lane then to let the trooper by then G-man pulls over then me and last Ladyhawk. The trooper gave G-man the courtesy wave and went on right past us. I don't think we even slowed down.

****zle - I was home at 8:23 PM. Would have been sooner, but too much traffic....

I was a real blast to meet everyone. Funny, didn't feel so special with all the other Marauders around.

What a great bunch you all are...

It was well worth the drive.
