Hey all. Hope everyone is doing well.

I had made mention that I was experiencing a rough idle ( cold and warm ). I had the car scanned and it came back clean, no apparent problems detected.

Someone had suggested the IAC valve as the culprit. Doesnt the scan look for that part's performance as well?

Mine is stock except w/ JLT and CATback stainless mufflers/delete tips. Anyone experience this?

Thanks,

Donnie

a scan wouldn't pick up something the chk engine light didn't come on for I don't think... My IAC was bad at one time and no light

I had my 03 MM into the dealer for catching up on normal services, mentioned that it seemed to be idling a little rough, would he check into that. Apparently there was an updated part number spark plug that should be installed (not something covered by my Ford ESP). I authorized the extra expense and darned if it didn't help smooth out the idle and I also notice a distinct improvement in power and acceleration. My MM was built in Jan of 03 and has around 31000 miles on it.

No idea if this relates to your issues or not, maybe one of our more knowledgeable members can speak on this.

How many miles do you have?

I too swapped out plugs when i had rough idle. There were 12c's in there, i threw the stock heat range back in there (Autolite 764's) and it cleared it right up.

I have 58k on it at the time of writing this. Wow who would have thought plugs might be be culprit?

I too think I have a rough idle.....and when I look at the tensioner pully it looks like it vibrates side to side with the flow of the belt. and when the a/c compressor kicks on I hear a chirp. Gonna take her in soon to check these things out before 3/36k runs out. I am sitting at 32,300 now.

Let us know what they come up with on the chirp. Mine does the same thing, although the dealer's shop must have some weird acoustics, cause they can't hear it. I guess I've got the bionic ear, cause I hear it going down the highway.
