T-shirts with Marauder

This is to see if anyone would want a T-shirt with a picture of MM on the back (large) and the gods head (small) on the front chest? All screen printed. I have a lead for a good deal here and would like to gauge intrest. I don't have price or picture yet but will get more info tomarrow. This is not related to anyone else with shirts, I am doing this because I want a cool shirt with only the MM on it. I am buying a MM wooward shirt too but this is seperate. Let me know who is interested and I will work on a picture and price. I would expect less than $20 per shirt.

Ok here is what the guy said. First the cool color graphic I wanted can not be done by him, he would need it drawn by an artist. So what he can do is T-shirts with the gods head on the front chest, I would add a larger one on the back of white or gray shirts. Also he can send out for embroidery on a polo and that I would just do the same logo on the front chest only. I think the polos would be $20 and the T-shirt $18. The T-shirts can be done soon , but the polo would be a bit longer.

"Dave aka. Daily03 pm me and said they have something like this for the Buckeyes.
An example of what they have done for me can be seen on the Buckeye Marauder Forum. Dated 2/5/06 and titled Buckeye Marauder Wear II." I like this and would be very similer to what I would ask to have done. Dave I am not trying to steal your ideas but they are them same GOOD ideas. I would like to make them MM universal not for each group, that is my differance.

The cost is much the same as Dave and counting the responces in this thread I have about (40 Yes), I would get 50 to start and go from there. I have the option of different color polos and rather do polos and wait with the T-shirts, (future job)?
I would ask for black w/ silver thread, Blue w/ white thread, burgandy w/ black thread, and silver/gray w/ red thread. To make it easy on me I would get 20 each and take orders after they are all gone.

If this is not doable I might ask Dave for help and just change his text.

I just talked to the shirt guy. I am getting 50 shirts to start. I would like an accurate count of SIZE, COLOR, QUANTITY!!
It will be a POLO Shirt, no pocket, with gods head logo and Mercury on top and Marauder below on left chest.

Blue shirt w/white logo
Burgandy shirt w/silver logo
Silver or Gray w/red logo

Update 8/9/06 oder palced polo shirts.
Here is the lowdown. I am doing the shirts explained above. I got him to make a prototype of each color, which I should have by next week. I will take them to Woodward for anyone to see and post a picture here either before or after my VACATION woo hoo! (please be patient) The damage is going to be $22 per shirt and $4 shipping, if its alittle more I will cover it. Total per shirt $26 and if you get more than one it should be about the same to ship since they are light, I know the price is more than 20 but I wanted a good shirt. I am not trying to profit here. The colors of the shirt are real close to our cars I hope everyone likes them. Again PM me or post here if you want, It will be a week or so till I get them back, and I will ship right away.

I'm very interested in this idea, but with some limitations.

I like tee shirts, "pocket tees", golf (polo) shirts, and denim long sleeve button down dress shirts, Oxford single needle tailoring, please.

I like the small godshead logo on the upper left chest, but I will not buy any shirt that displays any larger image of any sort on my back, that's a major "no" for me. Silk screen is cool, embroidered is cooler.

It was mentioned ^ there that there may be a concern about copyright infringement with a particular logo used. I've asked this question myself, and I was left to make my own decision about it.

Let me say that "the water is murky", and hinges on how much money is involved. When you start making a million bucks off/from a particular logo, image, impression, or, design that was designed by someone else, expect lawyers to call asking for their cut of the profit.

Doing something at the "hobby" level, among friends, just for other friends, and with no windfall profit in it for anyone, and no one will bother you. I was told exactly this by L/M legal staff myself, almost 4 years ago. Would they put "permission" to print, write a letter of authorization? No. Too many historic litigations could be upset by that. However, as long as we don't say stupid stuff like "Intel inside", or, use the word "Mattel" anywhere, we're cool with L/M Legal.

The Mercury godshead (facing to your left) belongs to Lincoln Mercury, but so do a dozen other representations published over the years, even the "waterfall" of our stock grill and trunk emblems. But, this particular godshead surrounded with a "rocker" (a technical term, K?) reading "Mercury Marauder.Net - - National Member" does not upset L/M Legal Affairs.

Thus, many of us use this logo as our avatar, and there have been representations of this logo on mouse pads, lapel pins, coffee and soft drink mugs, shot glasses, note pads, pens, key chains, valve stem caps, even the word "Marauder" on a fender badge, and list goes on.

This is the stuff we produce here for our own use and enjoyment, to which L/M as a whole indeed enjoys a more global benefit, and not for national gain or profit to one specific party. It's just for our fun, and it's okay with L/M to use this logo on an accessory "in a tasteful way".

Y'all may ask "how do I know this?" Well, that's rather simple too.

The "Mercury Marauder.Net - - National Member" godshead logo is my design. MartyO and I have used this logo for a number of collector's items, and it's been shared with many other members for their likewise use on products already named.

Feel free to use it as you wish, as long as the representation is tasteful, and no one is making a bucket of cash over it's use. If there is a "beef" down the road, I will stand in any Court to defend it's use, if used within the guidelines given us by L/M Legal Affairs.

I, too; like the idea of a dressier shirt. I have polo's and T's up the wazoo. I would like a choice of Marauder colors is a short sleeve button up shirt with pocket adorned with the God's head logo. I get Polo Shirts made w/embroidery on the front w/ Gods head. They say Buckeye Marauders but if there would be enough interest I could get them made w/ Mercury Marauder on them. Can get a variety of colors such as Blk, Maroon, Blue, Birch, or White. w/racing collar or plain.

Thanks Mac - been talking to my sister (who is a lawyer) about it and reached about the same conclusion you did. Basically it's up to the manufacturer and I wasn't going to expect much of a response from Ford in this matter - they have bigger fish to fry when it comes to trademarks.

I've been thinking about trying to get some logo stuff setup too. I'm not going to walk over the original thread starter, but will offer to continue looking into things and can post some options if everyone would like and fairlane347 has no objections - not trying to step on his ideas or hijack his thread. :)

A lot of the ideas sound great. Also, it would be interesting if we could get some of the vendor's here to OK some logo wear with MM.net logos...

WOW good responce! Ok I like that everyone put in ideas, I too would like embrodery but this place does not do that. I am stopping there after work so I should have more info tonight. Yes I will do shipping for those who asked. I am not doing this for profit. I want some MM shirts and Mercury stoped making what they did have. So the lawyers can bit the big one, I don't see an issue since these will only be available here and not for the whole world! I am considering all colors, gray, white and black shirts are on my list.
