Can clogged/dirty injectors, fuel filter or fuel pump cause bad compression or is it major damage if compression is bad? Again please just answer the question with a simple yes, no or any other technicial facts you would like to throw in. Thank you.

No. Fuel system has nothing to do with compression readings.

Mechanical wear/damage most likely.

Alright thank you. I heard it could be fried piston rings, warped pistons too, but wasn't sure on anything fuel related.

Nope, but make sure when you are doing the comp test you have the throttle blade in the wide open position or it will give false readings.

All engines lose compression over time, it's normal wear and tear. A typical compression test is half the 411, ask around for a "leak-down" test as well.

Nothing to do with compression. How many miles? How about dirty vavles?

Fuel system normally cannot cause bad compression.
Fuel additives CAN cause a buildup of crud and damage your valves,
pistons, and possibly head.

Check for...
Blown out Head gasket (should also cause other problems, like overheating)
Ejected Spark Plug
Worn out Valves and Guides
Worn Piston Rings

In this order...

Oh... when doing a Compression tet, always squirt an ounce or two of oil
into the cylinder on the second or third try.
If the pressure rises, then your rings are shot.

I agree with the general consenus, that the fuel system can not cause a loss of compression. There is one very remote possibility, that a fuel injector was damaged in some way by contaminated fuel, and it may be stuck open. However, I'm sure that would thow a code along with it's low RPM stumble, and therefore it's not likely.

Agreed..."should", when the gasket crosses an oil or coolant passageway. But, you could develop an interior blow-out between cylinder walls, that won't leave you many symptoms to investigate, without pulling the head. It looks like this...Look for the black carbon burn where the gasket gave way.

The only way to detect this is a complete bank of compression and leak-down tests. If air is sucking/pushing into ajoining cylinders, you can make an educated guess based on test results..
