Hot hot hot this summer, and those of us with black interiors know that sitting in the hot sun all day, you're greeted with a blast like an oven when you get in. I had my front windows tinted, which helped, but it was still a blast furnace when I got in.
So, I ordered a UVS100 UV Sun Shield from Covercraft. These are vehicle specific, cut to patterns that fit your windshield perfectly. Mine is for an '06 F-150, of course, but you can just as easily order one to fit a Marauder or Mustang or what ever you drive.
The finish quality is first class, and fitment is perfect. I was amazed at how well it cuts down heat in the cabin. I think you could sit in your vehicle, windows up and engine off, with one of these installed.
About $42 depending on where you order.

nice and thanks for the review.
Are you sure, however, that you do not have their "heat shield" as opposed to their "sun shield"?

Use the 2003 or 2004 Ford Crown Victoria to order the sun shield. Covercraft Part No UV10880.
I would assume that the windshield is the same size and shape on a 2003/2994 Crown Vic as a Marauder of those model years.

The one I ordered was for an '04 Marauder. It fits very well and does a pretty good job of keeping your hands from searing themselves to the steering wheel.

Really couldn't tell the difference on their website. Is the heat sheild for sun and heat and the sun shield is just to protect against UV rays?
Where did you end up buying your through? Looks like the Covercraft site re-directs you to other sites to buy from.

Looks great. I use one I got from Costco. It folds and twists into a small circle when not in use. It works quite well as well. You get 2 for maybe $20. Get the over size/jumbo one. That is the right size.

You might want to take a look at these. I've had them in my '92, '95, '99 and the 2003 Marauder. Never had a failure of anykind--had to replace the mounting tapes due to extreme heat Texas. Last week I recorded an unprotected dash temp of 183 degrees and a protected dash temp of 121 degrees--with a calibrated a/c thermometer. I have a ceramic-based tint--with the two, I have not had a seat temp over 120 --that's in Texas with many 100+ degree days. The pics show it stored--(automatically retracts) and deployed (clips into hook on drivers side) total time to deploy--2-3 SECONDS. My shield is white plastic--the new ones are silver--have an inquiry in to see about white with logos--will keep you posted. Check out the web site http://dashdesigns.com/sun-shades.cfm . I think you will like them--price $26.95 + s/h. Maury

Good Lord Donny...With that covering the windshield, and a limo tint on the sides, you could live in your car 24/7 and no one will find you.
Hmmm...Wonder how many newly-weds are customers...
Nevermind, let's not go there.

Got mine ordered, but they said it is a custom made item for each application: 2-3 weeks for delivery. Shoot, by that time there won't be much summer left to put it to good use.
I have a question: Does the metallic/shinny side that faces the windshield leave any kind of film or haze on your windows where it touches? The one I had bought at Wal-Mart leaves a kind of "filmy" mark on the windshield anywhere it touches the windshield.

To answer your first question, I ordered mine from AJUSA. Free shipping :)
It took about 2 weeks to get.
I later ordered the storage bag.
The silver side goes on the windshield side, and no, I haven't noticed any haze or film. It doesn't touch the windshield in my truck, sits back a bit and is supported by the dash and the visors.

Do you think the bag is worth it? I thought about ordering that, too, but decided against it for now just because I don't see myself putting it in and taking it out of the bag each time I want to use it (daily use at work).

Okay, I got it a few days ago and here's my take on it...
First, it's a vinyl bag, the sun shield slips down inside it and it's held shut with velcro. The shield fits snug in the bag. Meaning it's not a quick in and out of the bag, so you won't be doing this every day.
That said, it does protect the shield from dirt and harm when not in use, particularly if you put it in your trunk while carrying passengers or when it's not a sunny day (say, when raining or in cold weather). So, for the $6 it costs, sure, it's worth it to store it outside of peak use season.
I went a bit further and applied a Harley Davidson logo to the bag, midway down, just to give it more of a custom look. I'll post pics later.

Now this is what I wanted to hear about 2 weeks ago as I knew (or thought you had one for the Impala SS guys). But mine is already ordered and waiting on shipping. Sorry.

Well, got home from work yesterday and the UPS man had delivered my new, "custom" fit windshield shade and matching bag to store it in. I got the same type that Donny has posted on here and ended up ordering from California Car Covers (since you can't order directly from the company). Quality is decent, packaging was good, and it even came with instructions (just in case one would need them). I got the one for the Crown Vic since the Marauder is not listed and neither is the appropriate year Grand Marquis.
Anyway, put it up and it is definitely a better fit than anything I have seen available around here. It actually flares out near the bottom and tapers in near the top on the edges like the windshield itself does. My only complaint is that it could use an extra 1/2 inch on either end to fit the entire windshiled and not let sun in there. As it is, when centered, there is a little gap on either end. Again, still better than anything else available at Wal-Mart, auto parts stores, etc. Seems to be very sturdy and well made, the bag is quality material and the shade fits in pretty nicely.
Mostly happy overall, wish the fit was a tad better for a "custom" made item that took 2 weeks to have made and shipped and not sure it is worth $40 or so more than a Wal-Mart one yet, but we will see how well it works.

CAR Motorsports offers custom fit insulated windshield sunshades backed by a LIFETIME warranty against defects in material or workmanship. Our sunshades roll up (instead of folding) and have a heavy duty velcro strap to keep them closed. The price for these is $34.95 plus $5.95 shipping (after the August free shipping offer from Rich). Attached is a picture of the one in my GTO.
Thanks,
Alan
