Well, I finally gotta buy some new Nittos, and would really like to upgrade the wheel size as well. The stock 18" rims with the lower-series Nittos I currently have on the car [Nitto NT-555 245/40/18 fronts; 255/45/18 rears] still look a bit puny to me in my Marauder's wheel wells. I saw a black Marauder on Highland Ave. in Hollywood the other day with black 20" wheels, and the car looked pretty damn hot. I really like the "flat" spoke design of our stock Marauder wheels. Wish I could find a low-cost 20" version in a black/chrome treatment.

EDIT: Sorry--posted in wrong forum.

Anxious to see what you find out? I am looking at the Chip Foose Nitrous which closely resembles the stock Marauder wheel and it comes in a black

JMHO:

If you want to go dub, I suggest keeping the rake with either tires (like the stock config) or with wheel sizes.

It is Foose-ish to use different wheel sizes front to rear to accomplish a good rake.

If I had it to do again with unlimited money, I'd size up a 22" front and a 24" rear. Of course, there would be clearance issues to address and it would HAVE to be lowered! A good rake can be had with 20" front and 22" rear, but also, I am extremely happy with the 18" front and 20" rear. By itself, the front does look a bit puny, but hey, no clearance issues whatsoever. As a package though, the larger 20 in the rear makes it look full and powerful.

Good luck and if you need sizing/offset help, just PM.

Long time no hear (here) NBC.

Hope all has been well for you.

Whatever you do, if you DO go permantly with aftermarket 20's...pull those safety clips off the wheel studs, and have the car re-alighned.

We had lots of issues going 17 to 20 on the Vator until we did so.

If you go with 20" or larger wheels, seriously consider a brake package upgrade. Many people feel our OEM brakes are marginal, so the increased leverage of a larger diameter wheel and heavier tire/wheel combination might cause a loss of braking force.

Nice.
First is within 2 mm of factory. Wheel will be wider by about 1/4" both directions. Stick in 1/4, stick out 1/4.
Second will stick out about 3/8 and go in about 1/8".

For comparison, my rear is a 20x8 with a +40.

While theoretically this is true, If the tires are sized right, to match the stock overall diameter, there will be no increase or decrease in leverage. There will, however, be a change in the inertia since more weight will be toward the outside of the circle.

I have been very pleased with the BAER decela rotors and ceremic pads in stock replacement form. I do feel they have 'taken up the slack' and then some for the larger 20 out back. They are DEFINATELY an improvement over stock.

Besides, how can you have a beautiful wheel with ugly rotors?! :nono:

http://www.mustangtuning.com/verde-black-exodus-wheel-20x8-5.htmlThanks, guys! Really appreciate all the help! The first one is VERY close to what I'm looking for. The rest are far too "Bullitt-ey." Really trying to avoid that rounded Bullitt spoke design. Like I said, the goal is 20" wheels that look EXACTLY like Cruztaker's wheels (one of THE best-looking Marauders on this site). Thanks again, everyone!

I've seen the bullit wheels installed and don't care for them. They really don't look that good "in person". I possess a very good eye for artistic quality appearance, almost god-like. You can trust my judgment. ;)

Cool thread. I have often thought aout 20 inch wheels, but I really love the O.E.M. wheels. If I could have a set of 20s made to look exactly like the O.E.M. wheels for a reasonable cost, I would be all over it. I haven't even bothered to look into it because I know that cost would be the ultimate deciding factor. So until I can have 20 inch O.E.M. wheels I'll settle for my 18s... hey, what's 2 more inches anyway? ;)

I brought up the idea of a CNC 20-inch version of the stock wheel back in this thread:

http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?p=204987&mode=linear#post204987

Also, has anyone noticed the wheels on the new Saturn roadster thingie are almost IDENTICAL to the Marauder wheel?

Wonder what diameter they are

I think a 20-inch version of the stock wheel, with or without a black center would be the best possible wheel for the Marauder...
