I was looking for a picture or instructions about putting on a chin spoiler.I saw and read about it a few months back but now can't find it on here again.I didn't like the look at first but now the more I think about it the more I think I want to do it.
Thanks for any help in advance

I haven't heard of a chin spoiler for a Marauder. What did it look like?

The guy had taken ...I think 2 Mustang chin spoilers and made them in to one.I am almost certain I was reading it on these forums and even looked at some pictures of it he had taken. If anyone knows anything about please post up.

It's the front spoiler from the Mach 1. It was on the Crownvic.net. Here's a link to the photo series.

Is there a write up on how he did it?
Did he use two? Or did one fit?

Hard to say from the photos, but it sure looks like a bolt-on notice the fastening bolts on the install photo.

Exert from CrownVic.net in a thread about badge removal

My '04 didn't have any dimples or holes in the the decklid panel.

Hijack: where did you get the chin spoiler, and what purpose does it serve other than a subtle cool factor?

<HR>Its a 04 Mustang Mach 1 chin spoiler. Cool factor is about it. No one makes anything for up front so I had to improvise. I have a Marauder wing en route so it should look good overall with both on the car.

The photo series pretty much shows the install. It was 1 spoiler used.
Here's the thread on it. http://www.crownvic.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB29&Number=1194203&Forum=All_Forums&Words=13458&Match=Username&Searchpage=1&Limit=25&Old=allposts&Main=1194033&Search=true#Post1194203

That's one of our members here, Kailuaz. I have seen it in person and it looks awesome. My words were, " I am sooooo ripping-off that mod!". It really is complimentary on a black car!

It definitely IS cool, but the first thing I thought of is what this would do to your MPG. Wouldn't this hanging out there just interrupt the air flow under the car? Or is the amount of drag not even worth mentioning? Or maybe it channels air up into the radiator? Must have some purpose other than looking cool...!

Thanks,

Norm

Thank god!
I have been accused of copying...but how can we resist.
This guy did a good improvisation to make it work.

I like this idea as well. Who cares about purpose at this point.
It looks good.

And that's enough for me, but not if it creates unnecessary drag. $3.50 a gallon here has got my attention...

I would look into what effect it might have on cooling as respects air flow.

I do like the looks!!

I wonder if it sits at about the same height as that plastic crap under the radiator? I think the main function of that is to direct air up to the radiator that would otherwise go by. (and lets me know where the curbs are :) )

It definitely will affect air flow somehow, but could it be used to our advantage, IE channeling up to a super cooler or the rad itself?

It might force air to miss the current plastic piece. It could have a positive effect on high speed stability but a negative effect on cooling unless it could be directed.

Anyone have a wind tunnel!!!

JMan just buzzed me and told me about this tread.
I've had it on the car for a few months and have had zero problems with cooling. The bottom scoop still gets air, as the Mach spoiler doesn't sit that low. No scrapes on curbs or parking blocks either. As far as drag, I seriously doubt it has any effect at all. Not like this is a Ferrari anyway.
I had to buy it from a local Ford dealership as no one had it in stock. By the time you pay shipping from e-bay or other vender's it turns out to be the same price anyway.
I had one on my Mustang so I thought I would put it on the Vic. Turned out it was the same length and fits right on. I did use a few rivets as the Mustang bumper is flat on the bottom and the Vic has a curve to it. I recently went over it with a hair dryer to flatten out the slight waves in it.
Thanks for the complements, feel free to rip me off! hahaha

100/Free Ship, I have to fold it, but if you leave it in the heat, the fold comes out. Otherwise I have to charge more since its 'oversized' if not folded.

Folded is how the one for my Stang came, just leave it out overnight and it will form back in place. Everyone freaks when they hear its folded but it is no big deal.
Hey wchain,,, for a set of Meg's Resonator Delete Tips, I'll let you post my pics on your website as advertisement........ hey, it never hurts to ask! :D

Hey Wes, Can it be painted....lets say a Silver Birch color with out worry of cracking or peeling?

KAILUAZ

It can be painted, the Stang guys do it all the time. I would think you will need a lot of flex in the paint though.

wchain
08-16-2006, 11:05 AM
Add Flex additive to the paint and you should be ok.
