so i go to the driveup atm for the first time with my marauder. its a tight squeez but i figure that my marauder is so huge, black, and indestrucible that it no longer needs to follow the laws of phyics or matter and that i would make it. i didn't. it curbed and now it has a 1 inch scrap on the rim right by the tire(rear driver). does the warranty happen to cover big egos?(and rim fixing). how could i get this fixed? how much does a rim and tire go for? the tire is a little sc***** to but my main concern is the rim.:help:

why? whhhhhy?? porqué?????!!!!
sigh

Well join the club.Duh. Mine got scratched in an accident that I can't get paid for..(another story) Any way rear rim is about $560. retal. If you can't get it at discount I can. Be glad to help. If you know of any one that does metal polsihing they might be able to smooth it out a little.. There was a thread with Marauder parts and prices, do a search.

I did the same type of deal but got them to replace it. I looked really closely at all the other rims, and 2 others had small marks that looked the same. My tires also weren't scratched. I told the dealer it was from the factory like that and they replaced all three free.

There are some place that specialize in repairing mag wheels, even do Ferraris and such. I believe if you look at the ads in Car & Driver or Autoweek you can find out who they are. When they are done you'll never know it was damaged. Sorry I can't remember the companies names.

How about the thread that was going this morning with the wrecked car? Maybe He'd part with a wheel and rim for less than you'd pay a dealer?

Here's an idea...

Plug yourself into e-bay, tires and rims are always poping up there. I've seen no less that five MM sets of 4 in the last six months. Watch for an OEM replacement specialist from somewhere in Michigan, he's always throwing them out there because he's selling new rim/tire combos. I've seen them go for as little as 500 bucks, plus shipping.

Get a set of 4, replace your damaged rim, make the damaged rim your spare (presuming you have the donut) and offer the remaining three to us here. May be others with less than perfect wheels on the street, and they could do the same. Should bring down your cost remarkably, and everyone is happy.

Just a thought...

Any Hub cap and wheel store in large metro area most likely deals in reconditioning of damaged wheels. The cost is usually around 150.00 to 175.00. here in St louis the hub cap and wheel store. but you would be without youre wheel for several days. Also Andys wheels. This is what all ins co. figure on collision ests. once there done you can never tell

My 1st body shop billed the insurance company $344.00 for the wheel $127.21 for the tire

Only time I curbed mine was leaving school. I backed into my normal spot (which is along side a curb on the passenger side that way), and forgot about it when I left. No rim damage though, just the rear tire climbed up the curb. I'll tell you, that was the most sickening ride I've ever taken in my car! Appologies, kisses and praise (for not hitting the rim) were given to her once I got home!

looks like a cool site...all I need is a polish and re-seal with clearcoat.
