Today I got in my car and drove 3 miles to my friends house with no problems. Once there I used a floor jack and removed the drivers side rear tire to clean a blemish on the inside of the rim. About an hour later I put the tire back on and let the car down. When I started up again the check engine light was on, and has been on ever since. the temperature is normal. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Just plug in a OBD2 reader and see what codes pop up... may be coincidental... However, did you shut off the air suspension...or remove or loosen the gas cap. Since I have had the 4.6 cars .. I have had my own code reader... about a hundred bux,.... saves a lot of head scratching... all the code answers are on line and you can tell the tech what is wrong and not have to pay the read code fee at the service facility... O2 sensors. egr valves, iac motors and the like... misfiring cylinders tells you which one and so forth...worth megabux... RAM

I did shut off the air suspension, does that have anything to do with it.

Turn it back on, but that shouldn't give you a check engine light. You can take your MM to most any auto parts store and they will be able to read and decipher the code for you.

I turned it back on before I started the car. Cyclopsram mentioned it in his post, I just wanted to know would it have anything to do with it.

Any of you tech heads got any clue as to what this could be.

Auto Zone does free check engine light code reads. Go there and see what they say.

I'm no tech head, but this doesn't make sense to me.

You jack the car up as if you're just changing the tire, and the check engine light appears. Scanning memeory banks, please hold...

Nope, nothing I can think of in the area of your repair that could/would lead to this. It's coincidence, or, another "car mood". Get the code read, have it cleared, see what happens next?
