Plugged in X-Cal 2 - read code P0442 - Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (small leak)....

What's this mean?

I will have to take to dealer and see where the leak is coming from...

could be loose or left loose fuel cap.check cap if it was loose tighten then clear code and drive for a few days.

that's what I'm going to try first - just wonder if there is any danger in driving - fumes, etc. - with 'small leak' in the evaporative emissions system? I don't know what the 'evaoporative emmissions system' is... does it start at the engine, what does it consist of, etc....

just wonder if there is any danger in driving - fumes, etc. - I don't know what the 'evaoporative emmissions system' is...The evap system is that flat black panel mounted to the underside of the truck floor. It's used to prevent gas vapours from escaping into the atmosphere. You should not have any safety issue driving for a few days, just don't ignore it.
