Why you start the auction at .99$ for that engine? It ends in 6 days. Something seems wierd about that.

Because people on ebay insist on bidding and competing on items that have 6 days left rather than waiting for the last 1 min and getting a killer deal.
Nothing fishy, it'll go up on it's own.
Still would be nice to see the whole car...see where it was hit.
Also the description indicates its not just the engine up for auction but also the trans and all the wiring...hmmm...interesting.

Other miscellaneous parts? Hmmm,...
Dammit, another DTR bites the dust.

That's the real deal okay. Engine code "542". Says the front harnes comes with it, but the EEC should be included too. It's a MAV2 code in there.
We have spoken of this stuff in other threads here, anyone looking to build a "forged" Marauder engine would get a good start on that here. If you can get the 4R75W tranny too, it's real world value is 3K or so with the tranny.
That would be a smart start-up for any Marauder.

That's pretty close to me, too. If only I had a place to put it....

His name is Tyrone. I don't beleive I've met him. His car got wrecked in the side so he bought a theft recovery car that had been partially stripped. He's using two to make one and selling the leftovers. I plan to look at it tomorrow.

I stopped by and looked today. There are two Marauders there.
The silver one is the one he wrecked. It has a Trilogy. It wrecked the front and rear, the only body parts that are any good are the doors, windshield, and rear glass. Even broke the rear end. He had just had an aftermarket sunroof installed and suede covered headliner. Really nice, and for sale. He couldn't swap them into the other car because it had the factory sunroof, which was in a slightly different position.
The DTR one is the one he bought to swap his parts into. It had been partially stripped so he's taking what he needs from his wrecked one to get it back together. He started it up and let it run about 15 minutes while I was there, no blue smoke, no head tick, nice and quiet with 16k miles on it. Great engine/tranny if somebody needs one. Other electronic control modules will be available later, once he makes sure everything works on his new car.
I got a few things from him, but couldn't get everything I need for my heated seat conversion because the stripped car had been stripped of the door wiring and the door panels were boogered up.

Could it be one of the un-named Trilogy owners.

Heated seat conversion?
Geeze, Brian...Why didn't you say something. You can have mine for free, if you do the converting. I hate this crap, I'm always bumping the switch and sweating my azz off! You can have my traction control too!
I'll even bring my 300B SB to you, call me?

I'll call you after while. Not sure you really want to remove them from a driver, since the only way I have found to retrofit is to hack up the wiring harness. If you want to disable them, pull the door panels and unplug the switches. That would be a good opportunity to hack the wiring pigtails that I need in order to complete my conversion. Problem is I will still need door panels (unless I can modify my old ones as Joe Walsh mentioned to me). I would really prefer not to do that just in case I want to convert back sometime in the future. Unless you have a spare set of door panels for non-heated seats? Another option to stop the accidental activation may be to pull the fuse?

Hi Mac,
I thought all Marauder engines had forged cranks. My engine has a big sticker on the front that says 540.

Hi Mac, I thought all Marauder engines had forged cranks. My engine has a big sticker on the front that says 540. CurtMy '03 300A is a "540" engine with a calibration of 3G-120-AA, It used a BMDO EEC before I upgraded it to MAV2. My '03 300B is a "541" engine, with a calibration of 3G-120-AB. It's a CRD1 EEC. The "542" engine shown in the add is the '04 code, I don't have a current calibration on it, but it uses the MAV2 EEC.
Your calibration stickers are along the bottom edge of the valve covers, both sides of the engine. If you read it carefully, you should find a "DOB" for your engine.
All Marauders have cast iron cranks, powdered metal I-Beam con rods and hyperteutetic treated powdered metal pistons. This is also true of Mach Is with auto trannys and Aviators. Highly durable under most circumstances, but they suffer quickly from detonation and reverse hydrolock, where the engine oil gets sucked up from the pan and thrown against the underside of the pistons.
This is why it's never good to just jump off the throttle after a high RPM blast. The pistons become dead weight and pulling against the accumulated engine oil, and tend to stretch con rods like taffy. Next thing you know...Snap.
EDIT: Here's a pic, courtesy of Lidio. Notice how the ends of the break are twisted and deformed.
