So the body shop called today and said the MM is ready. I told them I could'nt be there till after 6pm, they replied they would be closed but will leave the car out for me. So I go to pick it up and give it a quick look over. Right away I can see sanding scratches right through the paint on both sides of the hood. I am not happy. I have to take the car because I don't want it sitting out all weekend. I guesse I will have to bring it back monday morning. The insurancxe company paid them $1500.00 to repaint the hood, front bumper, grill, header and roof. I am to sick to look at the rest of the car right now. Doesn't anyone take pride in there work anymore? I wen to this shop after speaking to several and they were in my opinion the best of the bunch. So much for my opinion. Any advice on hoe I should handle the situation? They had the car for three weeks and I told them I am a nut with my car. GRRRR!!!

That sucks.

I guess I can toss the estimate they gave me earlier this year to fix the fender on my truck.

I had heard before the best around here was A1 & Jackies.

Having a beer w/a fellow car nut last week(late model Corvette w/a Procharger on it I believe), who is older & has lived in this area for probably NO less than 25 years .....

I thought he would be a great person to ask his opinion on that very topic(who does the best body & paint work around here).

He also said A1 or Jackies was the best choice around here.

Raise hell man ..... that shatt ain't right.

we take pride in our work.....

Advice...be there 1st thing Monday a.m.....I don't care what you've got going on...cancel it. Get with the highest ranking person you can get "face-time" with. Be professional...but be very strong and pointed in what you are not satisfied with. If it's not handled IMMEDIATELY...go above his/her head....then so on and so on. Dedicate the morning or the entire day till you get a response you're happy with.

It's already being said well , in my own words. No yelling, no screaming, no profanity....NO YIELDING, it's not over until you say it is.

If I use one of my insurance company's recommended shops... I don't even have to deal with the body shop.... I can just call the insurance company and tell them I'm not satisfied and they handle the rest.

Unfortunately, my insurance co. had no reccomendations in this area. I will head everyones advice and go Monday morning and be proffesional and hope we can resolve this matter amicabally. If not I' will call the insurance co. and clue them in so they will withold payment until it is resolved.
Shame the paint laid out beautifully just the prepwork was poor.

i had the same problem when i crashed my first marauder the first time. scratches everywhere, a new dent on the roof, marquis headlights, orange peel on the hood, and overspray on the rear bumper. and the accident was in the front. brought it back, showed them, and they fixed no charge

Kinda makes you wonder. Seems that too many folks just do the bare minimum necessary ... could be laziness or just plain incompetence. :( When you find a place that does "service" right ... be sure to let them know that you appreciate it. :D

I agree with all of the other comments made ... be there on Monday early and stand your ground on the quality of the repair. They know it's not right.
