New Paint Covered Under Warranty

I just found out another MM had the same problem. My hood/roof/trunk paint is cracking! Its getting worse too. The dealership is covering it under the warranty though. Got authorization to get the hood/roof/trunk repainted under the warranty. Also got the front shocks replaced under warranty. Had some mean squeeking coming from the front suspension. Anyone else had these problems?

My driver's side seat cover looks like the pleat on the right side is no longer "tucked" in. What was the problem on your seat that they fixed under warranty?

how many miles on your MM and how long have you had it?. Normally paint is only covered for 12/12/

26K miles. Its an 03 that I bought brand new in 2/05.

What a coincidence! Thats the other reason it went in to the dealership. The front suspension was squeeking. It got so bad, I could shake the A-pillar and the front would squeek. The dealership said they lubed eveything up front andwill be replacing the front shocks. Apparently there have been quite a few complaints of them leaking.

my paint looks like it has small scratches in it on the trunk and hood. Is that what it looks like?

My suspension is also very noisy, more like a metal on metal click every time you go forward or break.
Paint is also starting to crack.

I've got a squeek in the front end too.

And my car has also been repainted, trunk, hood, roof, pilliars.

For those who have had their car repainted under warranty after 12/12 please PM me your vin as I am in a dispute with Ford over repainting my hood. I need your vin to prove that Ford has already set a precedent with this issue. Thanks in advance!!

Dan do not forget to tell 'em that the Mercury dealer was stupid and screwed it up and a Ford dealer steped in and fixed it:)

Isn't the front end squeak related to the hood latch not being set right? If you do a search you'll see a bunch of folks took care of it by lowering the hood latch a bit.

I had a front end squeak that was the hood latch, I also had a popping sound at low speeds and they replace the drivers side shock. Has anyone gotten their paint covered after warranty?

I'll guess its covered in the standard 3 yr./36K miles.

You guys were right about the hood latch. Another local MM owner said thats where the squeek comes from. I did notice the dealership greased up the hood latch area pretty good.

I guess if they had it on record sooner then it could go pass 12,000. Mine was repainted at 24,000 but, I was on them for almost 14 months:)

I'm at 26K and 18 minths! Dealership already said the work was approved.:beer:
