tint strip?

The posting mentioning that factory tint strip at the top of the windshield got me thinking. . ..

I don't have one of those. All I have is a black strip with the pixellated black/clear at the very top of the windshield - of which very little of the black is visible from any angle inside of the car. I don't have the tinting.

Is this another 300A/B thing? Or is my windshield not OEM? I suppose if something had happened to the original during transport or whatever they could have had it replaced prior to sale. If so, would they need to disclose this? (or should they have?)

See pic where one can see clearly (despite reflections) the suction cups for my radar detector, which is placed as high as is humanly possible - since the suction cups will not stick to that black stuff. I had always been able to conceal the radar detector behind that tinted strip (it was very hard to tell even when standing right in front of the vehicle on my Dodge, but is very clearly visible on my MM.)

Thanks for any help - stick yer heads out the window/into the garage and take a peek at yer windscreens you 300B owners and let me know if I am alone or this is standard.

mine has see thru blueish dye/tint to the as1 line in the upper driver's side of the windshield - approx 5". on the bottom in the middle towards the dash center i have a ford oval logo. might be a supplier change as ford squeezes them for products at lower costs. my side windows that go up and down say "ppg" as the fixed rear door little windows say a different supplier's name.

They changed the windshield on the later production 300B's . There is an arrow on the glass about 4 inches from the top indicating the tint. Also states solar tinted on the center of the windshield (at the bottom ) John

My 300B is darker tinted down to the AS1 line.

I haven't heard of them stopping doing that, but read they were going to stop the dot screening above the rearview mirror
