Talk away, I am listening. The fall would be best for me (if any one is asking) as the sumer is short and my therapist insists that I spend time on my boat ;).
It should be closer to NY than Chicago, because Sarge will owe me one as I am flying out to Chicago later this week to take him out to dinner to celebrate his puttin' a whoopin' on those SS boys at the track. When will they learn never to mess with a heavily armed individual?

OK! I am up for a MM get together... Phila to Chiago is about 750 miles. pick a place??
I remember when the 1982 World's Fair was in Knoxville, TN...they promoted that Knoxville was within a days drive for almost a third of the country. and, you can't beat the Smoky Mountains in the fall (maybe a run through the "Tail of the Dragon" could be put together... www.tailofthedragon.com ) <check it out
How bout it Fordnut...you prepared to put something together around your neck of the woods? Mr. "2 Marauder Family"

Distance from NY??
D.C. to Knoxville=486.79
CHI to Knoxville=541.78 miles
NY to Knoxville=712.77 miles
Dallas to Knoxville=844.17miles
Miami to Knoxville=899.15 miles
Boston to Knoxville=926.82miles
Minneapolis to Knoxville=955.23miles
Like I said...less than a days drive (15 hours or less) for nearly a third of the country. And a beautiful setting for a meet.
Just a suggestion....

Todd: Can we just have it at your house and save ourselves the cost of the hotel?
Sure...if you want to add an additional 213.98 miles (Knoxville to Atlanta) to your itinerary.

LML --- Only if you're going to have punch & pie...
I'm game for anything like that. I need a vacation and would like the opportunity to meet some of you knowledgable folk (and race of course!)

I'm in, name a spot, pick a date. I'm on vacation from 18 Sept to 10 Nov., and I'd love a long road trip before parking my Girl for the winter. Hey let's not forget the Southeastern crew, the Carolinas and FL peeps. Other places to visit/meet...
Gatlinburg TN...fun town
Gettysburg PA...historical
Hersey PA...yum...
Charleston NC...they got BIG boats there Martin...
How about catching up with a NASCAR or Winston Cup race, one of the 500's anyone have a schedule of events?
Keep the ideas comming...

Hey looking...
I wasn't trying to leave out you "left-coast" folks. I was just responding to the above which was asking for a place of mutual travel for the mid-west and east coasters.
As for St. Louis, the numbers are as follows:
D.C. to St. Louis=833.93 miles
CHI to St. Louis=294.74 miles
NY to St. Louis=958.44 miles
Dallas to St. Louis=700.65 miles
Miami to St. Louis=1256.26 miles
Boston to St. Louis=1193.24 miles
Minneapolis to St. Louis=620.71 miles

I like Sarge's PA ideas. Then again, how far is NC from NY? (Todd, you seem to know how to figure this that out...get to it!!)
Fall is definitely best for me (due to work commitments I am already losing too much of the boating season this summer).

PA sounds good to me. Personally I could combine that with a trip to the wifes family. She would really want to go then!
Maybe someone could start a Poll ? LML (Poll-Guru!?)

Yum always works for me!!
I vote for 9/13-9/14 or 9/27 - 9/28 (I think the later dates work better for Sarge's vacay (looks more like a sabbatical to me -- I guess rank has its privileges). If I took that long off from work, I would have to be retrained!!

Yum is very cool with me.

Sabbatical you say? Feels more like parole...
Hershey is a great choice, for those of you who have significant others who will only take about an hour of the "Marauder thing" the whole area is a great place for Gift Shopping, Antiques, etc lots of little "on the road" sites. Also, the Train Museum (location is escaping me, starts with an S) is a neat place to visit. And don't forget about all the Horse Power in the region. Anytime in Sept should work for me.

If you all want to do Hershey, Pa. Then I will step up to the plate and play host?? I will find us a hotel, If you want to race I'll find out about a drag strip and see what is going on in the area?
Just let me know..Let's pick a date?
Now if LML wants to set a poll before we get set on Hersey that's find too....:) :D

Hersey would be perfect for me. But hey, I LOVE road trips, and so does my better half.
Wisconson Dells to Northern VA in one streach. THAT was a long day.
I still like Knoxville better, for the folks out in TX, MN, WI, FL....
Late Sept. would also avoid potential ice situations by going a little farther south.
How 'bout that poll, LML?

I'm for the Knoxville area--thats a no brainer....and it's in the mountains....maybe we should consider separate meets..those who want the mountains of Tenn and others for an area closer to them....gosh folks ..can't have it all ..a little at a time..eventually we'll all meet up anyway...and no I haven't even met prchman...
