Well...I recieved a phone call I never expected to get! The Ford dealership came thru, sort of... One of the owners called to tell me that one of the Shelby that was spoken for became available when the guy backed out. She said I am at the top of her list and her first phone call. However....even though it was red, it was a convertible, which I really dont want. She is confident that she can make it happen, so we shall see....
Oh well......easy come, easy go.
This is what it would look like....Maybe I should reconsider.... It looks badassed with the top down!

Absolutely nothing. I believe it was around $46,500. I am going to wait for the Coupe, I like the stripes on the Shelby.

That Red and Black combo on a Mustang is very nice. Here's one that caught my eye at the Jacksonville VFD car show yesterday. Not a Shelby but the color combo comes close. Good luck on your dream ....

If your buying it as an investment, just remember the convertable is usually worth more then the coupe.

I tend to prefer the coupes over convertables. I like the lines on the coupe better and really like the classic shelby look of the white stripes on a red Mustang. I already have my other fav shelby color combo with my white 06 GT that will be getting the shelby blue stripes when I select the hood and spoiler.

Of the two, the Coupe looks so much better.

The fact that it is not marked up is significant. I am going to a dealer on Tues for an auction of a black coup. It starts @ 5K over MSRP. Good luck

Dave if you hold out what are the odds? One guy backed out?

Bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.

Take the vert, my brother loves his and you can always add stripes.

I love the Shelby's, but I too am not a fan of the 'vert. Keep in mind, if you lived somewhere it would always be a lot warmer than MI, then I'd suggest getting it. But honestly, how many months can you keep the top down?

Dave, buy it and sell it to Marty wait for the next one.

I'm sure Marty would spiff you -something- for your trouble!

I love the vert and don't care for the coupes myself. The shelby coupes look fantastic, but I still prefer the ragtop.

They would never sell me two Shelbys! If I bought the convertible, that would be it and there would be no chance at a coupe. The whole reason for not charging $10-20K above sticker is they want one of their good solid customers to have it to enjoy, as opposed to someone that would immediately sell it for a profit. I dont need the car, so I can wait and see. If I get what I want, great, if not, no big deal.

If you really think the dealer thinks that way, YOU ARE ON CRACK! :D

They could care less and want to move the car so they can get more. Period. Never presume to know what a car dealer is thinking. Rule #1.

You'll get your coupe no matter WHAT you do with the vert.

No crack involved! You may be right, but I can't see them selling me 2 Shelbys. I just thought they would smell something fishy, with me grabbing the convertible and the coupe. They know my garage is stuffed with 3 Mustangs and a Marauder, hence the offer to buy the Shelby as a "good" customer. Hell, I am probably delusional about actually getting the coupe. I will believe it when it happens, but I was completely without hope before they called me friday, who knows.

Marty, I have known that for years. Sorry. I'm not worthy.

Not that I am anxious or eager, but I did pick up a couple of banners for the garage....just in case. Reminds me of decorating the nursury......
These are all 4ft X 2ft heavy vinyl banners. The last two are the same ones hanging in Ford dealerships!

The Dealer I work for, was offered fifteen thousand above retail for one of the two they have ordered.
This was another Ford dealer.
The owner is waiting till they are delivered, to see what the market will bear.

I caught this on a site: http://www.copcarsforsale.com/ . I guess the owner bought himself one and has other vehicles for sale, too.
