Well, as the title states I was involved in an accident this morning, while in the Marauder. Fortunately neither my brother or myself were hurt, and it wasn't my fault. Anyhow this is what happened..

I was on my way to school this morning which is about a ten minute trip and I had only been gone maybe five minutes at the very most. I was approaching a red light, which hangs over a three lane road, one for turning and two for driving. No other vehicle was infront of me as I was roughly 100 feet from the light which was red at the time and I began to slow down, soon after the light changed green and I began speeding back up. As I got closer to the intersection I could see an older model Tahoe trying to make a right turn on red, in to my lane. The driver said he didn't see me as I was entering the intersection, so he started to pull out but saw me too late and stopped and tried to make his way onto the shoulder, but didn't. By this time I was right on him and I tried to swurve and miss him but I didn't have much room to go since there was another vehicle in the turning lane, had there not been I could have missed him. I clipped him his front end with my passenger side doors and rear quarter panel. I started fish tailing after the contact, but soon regained control, I pulled over on the shoulder, where I called my Dad and my brother called our Mom. Once, I got out of the car and talked to the guy he admitted it was his fault, and wouldn't contest it, so his insurance will pay for the damage. We (my family) don't plan on filing a law suit like many people in this area would, as he seemed to be a hard working person, and had no intention of pulling out.

The car probably won't be repaired untill the week after next, since the repair shop said the parts won't be in untill the later part of next week.

Ohh well.

I'm sorry to hear about your car, glad it's going to be fixed, hopefully you'll soon have it back good as new.

I really appreciate this comment above. Don't forget to look out for yourself and make sure things get taken care of and you don't have to take any unnecessary blame or expenses as a result of the other drivers mistake.

That being said I applaud your decision as it was just that - a mistake. So many people look at an accident as more than a mistake and inconvienence but try look at it as an oppurtunity...

You're right the other guys just out trying to make it through his day and he made an error - getting that error resolved properly without turning the situation into a profitable advantage is a good call on you and your families part.

Hope you get your car back soon!

Thanks guys. While my dad had his lunch break today, he took the car to the repair shop where it will be repaired, to get the owners opinion and an estimate. He figured around $5600 to fix the car good as new, which seems steep but his insurance is paying for it so it doesn't really matter to me. I'll be driving the car untill the can get it in the shop, so I'll have to quit leadfootin' and drive her soft. And boy, is it depressing to look out the window and look at her all dinged up.
