This week has been hectic but good--took the Barracuda to the Mopar Mini-Nationals in Garland today--good reception--lots of help. Now, the Sept calendar--we have Chucks on Sat , the 23rd. We also have the State Fair on FRIDAY, Sept 29th. Check http://www.mercurycougars.com/Activities_Calendar.html for details and other activities. Don't forget the picnic in October. At the LSCC meeting on Thursday, they requested a head count of all that plan to attend the State Fair Corral Show on the 29th. They are hoping for 30+ cars-hope we can supply some of those. Two-Hawks ( Sam ) and I have committed. You don't have to mail in the forms--they will be available at the gate. Plan to arrive about 7-8 AM--gates close at 9 AM---- you have to stay till they reopen the gate at 6 PM. This is the first day of the Fair and the public gates don't open til about 11 AM--we have the run of all the exibits without the crowds. You and all passengers in your car get into the Fair free. There are some big trees for us to sit in the shade of and plenty of food concessions for food. The public can't get to your cars and someone is always in the corral, so you are free to roam. Bring your chairs and plan to make a day of it---lots to see and do. Go to the LSCC web site ( above) for more info. Let's have a bigturn-out. See you there, Maury
Let me know by post, PM or 817-296-3819.

I goofed--Should have made this a separate thread. Directions to the fair--- I-30 East to 2nd Avenue exit--go South on 2nd Avenue until it hits the Fair Grounds--turn Left on Perry and then IMMEDIATLY turn Right to enter the gate. Someone with the Club will be at the gate with releases and passes. All cars MUST be in place by 9 AM--we usually go for breakfast on the fair Grounds about 8-8:15 AM--we'll leave info where we are with the gate monitor. Maury

Maury, count me in!! I wanted to do this a couple of years ago, but if you remember, I had an accident the week before the fair. And I would have commited sooner this year, but I wasn't sure if I would sell my car first. Tell me what I need to do. You indicated that I can just register as a drive-up; that will be great. As a trade-off to my family though, I won't be at Chuck's tomorrow.

John, all you have to do is show up and be able to stay the full time (or at least your car has to stay). Everyone in the car gets in free-- bring some of the family who would enjoy crowd- free brousing. I make more family trade-offs than you can imagine. As for Chucks--the weather looks real iffy, I'll keep an eye on it. The Barracuda has a bad alternator and won't be at the show anyhow. Soo, we'll see you at the Fair. Maury

Maybe, wish I had watched the LSCC site closer to make plans.
