Hey all,
Just need to vent and then hopefully get some direction. My MM has been scratched, bumped and finally today, rear ended since the day I bought it. Granted, the paint wasnt perfect when I picked it up. I had pre-existing deep scratches on the rear B/cover and on one side 1/4 panel. No real biggie, I figured Id have it painted eventually. The accident today was minor and the B***H that hit me ( was on the damn cell phone and applying much needed makeup ) was insured. I want to rip the heads off ppl that slam doors into others, bump while parking and the likes.
My question: I have heard there are products that are for filling scratches prior to buffing out paint, have any of you guys used this sort of thing? I am appreciative of any direction.

That sucks man, but I hear you. People are jealous of what you have, and/or just a plain old scumbag and don't care of what you have and are inconsiderate to other's property. Meguiar's ScratchX does a fantastic job, and that new stuff from NuFinish. I bought some when I first heard about it, supposed to take out scratches and swirl/haze marks. Let me tell you, I had my doubts, but it did a fantastic job and shined the whole car up great. Only bad thing though, this little bottle cost about $18 bucks. http://www.nufinish.com/images/scratchdoctor-tm.jpg

Use a compound..Get it at a shop or a place that sells car paint...then wax the hell out of it....Lot of work, but that thing will look like a piece of glass when your done...The swirl/scratch remover stuff you get at Auto stores only lasts for a short amount of time... a compound will last a good while.....You have to keep it waxed!! I just went through it, and my car looks better than the day I bought it

I always park mine ridiculously far away from everyone else. The same kind of people who bang/scratch doors are also too lazy to walk more than 50 yards.

What he said. I park way out also it lets those same morons get a 360degree view of a car they wish they had.

Compound? You mean rubbing compound? I have some of that but thought that was just for non-clear coated regular paint and would screw up our finishes. (?)
I use that new stuff from Zaino for paint scratches, and it is fantastic. Can't remember the name or number. You just have to be careful not to overuse it, although he doesn't warn you on the bottle but does on the website. It is the best stuff yet, although McGuiars and ScratchX are both good for small jobs.
A guy last week wanged his POS beater car door hard into my rear wheel well. It left a chip the size of half-my finger nail, and then he just walked off. I just grabbed him and showed him the damage and he just shrugged. A-holes! I feel for you man.

I also feel your pain. My 1990 Mustang Notchback that I had a nice black paint job done on last year got hit twice in the same week, in the same parking lot in May. One on the passenger side of the front bumper where someone driving a white car had no depth perception and rubbed against the corner of the bumper cover, rubbing my paint off to the urethane, then same thing on the rear bumper cover a week later, white car and all. Niether driver left any info. I couldn't even look at the car for a month without getting depressed. Both bummpers need to be stripped and re-painted, but it is a project car that I haven't driven in 3 months, so I am not in a hurry to fix it. I still get angry every time I open my garage and my eyes automatically go straight to the sore spot on the rear bumper. I now park as far as possible from other cars in parking lots, plus that way I get more exercise.;)
