Motor CIty Marauder & FME team up for September Car Show!

The Ford Motorsport Enthusiest club has invited the MCM club to an upcoming car show. Sounds like we will be treated very well and I think we should round up the posse and check it out. Here is the info:


FME ANNOUNCES OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH SIGNATURE FORD OF PERRY FOR PERRY FEST 2006
All are invited to attend and display their vehicles at Signature Ford of Perry on Saturday, September 16, 2006 for Perry Fest 2006. Our new friends at Signature Ford will provide us space for as many vehicles as you would like to display during this annual event. Customs, Hot rods, classics, new production vehicles.. ALL Ford (and ford branded, Mercury, Jag, Volvo, etc.) vehicles are welcome
The show will run 11:00am to 4:00pm, setup will begin at 10:00AM. Signature Ford will provide lunch for those participating, and a dash plaque for each vehicle in the show. Transportation will be available to and from the festivities at Perry Fest. Local hotels will also be available for those wishing to stay the weekend. For more information on hotels, let me know. Signature Ford is located 80 miles from Dearborn, in Perry Michigan, 3942 W Lansing Rd. Perry, MI 48872

Any suggestions? Paul, do you know this Dealership?Denny's at 12 Oaks Mall, Meijer's at Wixom Rd., Exit 137(D-19) in Howell. Pick a spot all along 96, time would depend on you east siders getting over here to the west side and travel time from said meeting spot to Perry.

So when & where are we going to meet for a convoy? Lynn wants to go so she can check out the craft shows.

Yes.Unless they moved it.Perry is set up like Richmond,Its an older country town and the dealer is in town.As for meeting together Its easyer for the east siders to go up I-75 to I-69 in flint and shoot strait down the freeway to Perry where they have an exit.But either way is about the same mileage.I know how to get there both ways.Showing up together would be good.

Wouldn't taking I-96 to M-127 to I-69 be easier. Know it looks a bit out of the way, but so does going up to Flint to go to East Lansing. Just not sure of the roads between I-96 and I-69. Can't see what is really a better route.

If going out I-696 to I-96, how about meeting at National Coney Island at 11 Mile and Gratiot. Or:

If going out I-75, meeting at Damlier/Chrysler headquarters.

I only suggested the west side places as it would seem pretty stupid for us to go east to meet up just to come west again. Figured Farmington Hills/Novi area was a good "central" spot.

I like DJ`s route the best.It`s nonstop for us eastsiders to get there.from where ever we meet at you go up I-96 to the Williamston M-52 exit.M-52 goes right into Perry.Same milage either way and all open road.

Basically going to take M59 to I75 to 69 to M52(Main St.) to Lansing Rd. It would be way out of my way to head down to 696 and head out that way. Paul, how familiar are you with the area in the map below? Whichever way you get there, all of us will end up on M 52 or Main St. and Lansing Rd. What if we pick a place on Main St. or Lansing Rd. to meet up at? When we are all there, we head to the dealership together.

This is how you will get there from the west side, you will actually be heading north on M52 (Main St.) from I96. That is why I think we should find a spot on Main St. or Lansing Rd., meet up, and roll in together. Paul, anyplace on Main or Lansing we could rally at?

Hello everyone. Thanks again for participating in this event. This is a first for FME working with a Ford Dealer this far out. Setup time begins at 10 AM, the show will start at 11 and run to 4 PM. I should be there well in advance of setup time. Below are the directions as given by mapquest. I drove it last week. Very simple route, just about an hour and a half to get there depending on how you drive (assuming good traffic conditions).

Our contact at the Signature Ford is Denny Emmer. Please see either Denny or myself when you arrive and we will give you space to set up.
