View Full Version : Need help installing fuel pressure sending unit

I have purchased the pillar pod mount and decided to go with fuel pressure and boost gauges. The boost gauge is on back order until sometime after the 11th of Sept.
The problem I am running into is finding a way to plumb the sending unit into the fuel system. The natural choice would be the sharder valve on the D/S fuel rail. The problem is finding a fitting that will work. I went to Austin’s Pro Max who has a wide variety of AN fittings that the sending unit will fit into, but nothing small enough to fit the shader valve.
Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Autometer sells the adapter.
Forgot the number, but go to their site and go to adapters.
It's like a 1/16 x 1/8 npt. It's what I used anyway.

I will email you a photo....email me with your email address if you would like to see what I did.

Autometer Fuel rail adapter fitting #3280.
1/16" male NPT to 1/8" female NPT. (1/16" NPT is a 'beeotch' to find)
It worked fine on my Marauder and on Gordon's (HAGGIS) Marauder.
I tried to put my sender on and it hits the EGR valve I believe. I would prefer a 90.

The fitting I got from AutoMeter was a straight one and the sender would not fit because the IAC and TPS were in the way....Sooooo.....I had the 90* one made to mount the sender straight forward.
I will post a photo if anyopne wants to see it??

Thanks for all the input. I believe clearance will be an issue for me as well. I can not even get a fuel freassure tester to fit because of the IAC & TPS.
Marauderjack you have an incomming PM.

Just added this on my car with an AutoMeter UltraLite II full sweep gauge. Used the AutoMeter fitting (#3280 was the one I used, I believe). I went to my FLAPS and bought a 45 degree angle fitting to make the sender clear the IAC valve. Snap to install. Only problem I had was my first sender from AutoMeter was bad, but they replaced that with a working one very quickly.
Sorry for the blurry photo. I fail at camera operations.
