Driving by a GMC dealer yesterday I saw a white Grand Marquis for sale in the "special" line...after going to the local Ford dealer to have some tires force balanced for my CVP71, I went back and bought the "Marauder Edition".
It is a genuine old folks Florida Special... 2000 Grand Marquis Mercury Full loaded LS with the false landau roof and medallions which say "Marauder Edition" and a decal on the RR of the trunk lid which also says "Marauder Edition..I had never seen one before, so had to have it... Base suspension, no handling and performance package, but all the luxo stuff like climate control and compass etc.. White with the gray half roof and gray interior and 70000 miles. Was $4K after haggling and now I have my own 2000 Marauder Edition...Must have been a aftermarket package like some of the southern dealers put on for local consumption and add $2500 for the elite golfers in Boca Raton or the like...At some time I will try to post a coupla pix here...so I am now an official "Marauderer", albeit of a faux nature..should do about 66 mph in the quarter and 31 seconds or so... A clean 2000 GM w/ 70k miles for $4k? Sounds like a good find to me regardless of the badging. I had a 2000 GM GS w/ HPP (love the acronyms) and I loved it. Very comfortable car.

I've driven a Marauder edition in the Northeast. They aren't really special and aren't that rare. When I said I wanted a Marauder some dumb kid thought it was that!
