I picked up a brand new set of Nitto NT420S 255/55/18 tires at a great price of $100 each installed and balanced. I know they are a SUV tire but has anyone else used them, and what did you think of them?

Actually the KDW-2's for the rear are also V rated...

V should be ok for normal use and beyond, especially since we tend to put more air in them than stock as well.

That's not true young Jedi. Please explain what you mean about putting more air in them stock as well.

The Stock rear O.E.M tires are Size:
245/55WR18
WR Speed Rated

When Z-speed rated tires were first introduced, they were thought to reflect the highest tire speed rating that would ever be required, in excess of 240 km/h or 149 mph. While Z-speed rated tires are capable of speeds in excess of 149 mph, how far above 149 mph was not identified. That ultimately caused the automotive industry to add W- and Y-speed ratings to identify the tires that meet the needs of new vehicles that have extremely high top-speed capabilities.

W 168 mph 270 km/h Exotic Sports Cars
Y 186 mph 300 km/h Exotic Sports Cars

What is interesting about these tires is the load rating.

BFG KDWS=1929@44
Nitto 420S=2271@50

The Nitto NT420S’ non-directional tread design gives you the freedom to rotate the tires side-to-side. This feature allows for even wear across the tread area, resulting in longer tread life and a more comfortable, quieter ride.

They look nice Paul - do they have anything for the front for a match?

I tend to have a habit of killing rear tires so my KDWS on the front are practically brand new. Our little track meet the last time killed the rears.
So far in the rain they are amazing, they hook up at half throttle instead of the stocks spinning at only 1/4 throttle. They look real meaty and gave the car a little more rake which I really like. I have 35PSI in them but Im considering lowering to 30 to see if it makes any difference.
The price was right and I love the look of them, I may shoot for 245/45/18's for the front but once the snow comes, Im out of business.
All the more reason to get my Saab on the road.
