What's this white thing? Looks like it's missing something. It's got a hose coming out the side.

This is the muffler for the ride control air compressor. Yours appears to be broken (Can't tell for sure with just this pic.). I relocated mine pursuant to the install instructions on my K&N FIPK.

Looked at the photo a little closer and then mine as well. A piece has fallen off of yours. This should be about a $3.95 item. Using the ford price strategy, move the decimal to the right one space and it is proabably $39.50.
It's the molecular reactor thermal difibulator that's going inside Rich Long....

So if I delete this I will get some more HP???..:D
How about a mini-Magnaflow instead???...;)
BTW: Yes, the plastic side panel is broken off of yours.

Its supposed to have a cap that says Marauder. Its the white box similar to the black box but instead of recording stuff for when something goes bad it shoots out lollipops when you eat up other cars during stoplight challenges but yours is broke so it wont do that.

It's the air filter for the air ride compressor. It looks as though the
filter element and cover is missing .it is supposed to be relocated
when installing the K&N CAI air filter intake. Due to a clearance issue.
It would be wise to replace it!

It's a chewing gum holder for gently used pieces of gum.

It is a noise maker for the exhaust side of the air ride. It makes a distinctive howl (which has been discussed on the board) when the air ride releases pressure from the air bags. It is a Marauder specific part and is stamped as such on the cover.
It is exhaust, not intake. There is no filter. If you remove it from the car and blow through it, you will recognize the howl. It serves absolutely no other purpose than to make a noise when releasing the air ride pressure. I sure it was some engineer's little attempt at making the Maruader 'unique' and 'bad'.
It is held in place by a tab and a 'christmas tree' fastener. It is of a type of plastic that gets brittle easy and most often the tab breaks. You could simply zip tie it if you wanted.
I didn't like the howl on my car, so I simply removed it and fed the rubber tube through the radiator support to behind the headlight. It has stayed there and I have no sound when the air pressure is released.
If you want the 'howl' back, I think I still have mine buried somewhere. PM me if you really want it and I'll look for it. I'll pass it on for free if I find it.
That straight enough for ya?

Someone screwed up. Namely the person that installed your CAI.
All that was required was drilling a new pilot for a self tapping screw and remount it out of the way of the cone.:shake:
Indeed...part of the air ride.
I can't see the rubber hose...is that missing as well?

This makes the most sense. Couldn't be an intake filter for the compressor because that's mounted directly on the compressor. I know the sound you are referring to. It sort of sounds like Darth Vader. I like your idea of getting rid of the white box and routing the hose behind the radiator support.
