Where is the sending unit that send he fuel level to the gauge? I had mine replaced under a TSB over a year ago - and they put it in backwards. So when I fill up -- My Low Fuel light is on, and the gauge reads "E." I'm out of warrantee now, and want to fix it myself - If I just knew where it was.

Its in the tank on the fuel pump assembly.
I dont think it was installed upside down, cant really do that.
Maybe a wiring issue

They put the wires on backwards inside the tank. It's easy to get out. I don't have my pictures from when I did one on a CV I owned but wait untill you have a quarter tank or less. Jack the rear of the car up and support it by the frame to let the rear end hang low. The fuel pump assembly is on the front side of the tank. Carefully disconnect the connector. They break easily! Then use a flat screwdriver (it would be better to use a piece of brass 1/4 inch bar stock but most don't have things like that around) Put the screwdriver up against on of the tangs on the retaining ring and tap it CCW. Once the ring is off just slide the assembly out of the tank and reverse the sending unit wires on the fuel pump. It should have been pretty hard to get it backward cause IIRC the wire lugs are two different sizes. I would also recommend getting a new O-ring from the dealer before you begin just incase yours gets damaged.

The sender will bolt in backward. It happened in our shop. Pump has to come out and have it bolted on correctly.

Thanks guys... sounds like a real pain to do. :) Maybe I'll try to talk the dealer into fixing it again...

Since the repair is over a year ago, you might have to foot the bill to get the job done right.
