OK, so i had to pick up this tranny for a car were working on (that lincoln ls with the 3.9 dohc) im in almost midde iowa, the tranny is in Chicago.
will someone calculate my gas milage
i had a 1/4 tank went to the station and
I topped off with $35 @ $2.40
I dropped in $20 @ $3.07
I dropped in $20 @ $2.44
I dropped in $20.01 @ 2.37
and i put 746 miles on the trip meter
and i still have a good millameter or 2 over the half tank mark.
get out your calculators!!
I also was carrying the old trans and torque converter there, and the new with fluid back 200 pounds or so

That's kinda tough since gas gauges don't usually read in a linear fashion.
Here's a ballpark anyways though.
fillup #1 = 35/.4 = 14.6 gallons
fillup #2 = 20/3.07 = 6.5 gallons
fillup #3 = 20/2.44 = 8.2 gallons
fillup #4 = 20.01/2.37 = 8.44 gallons
Total fuel added = 37.7 gallons.
However, you started at 1/4 tank and ended up at 1/2 tank. . . so assuming a linear gauge and a 19 gallon tank, that's roughly 5 gallons, let's call it 4 to be on the safe side.
Total fuel used = 37.7 gallons - 4 gallons = 33.7 gallons
total mileage = 746
mpg = total mileage/total fuel = 746/33.7 = 22.1 mpg, but with the certainty we know this that ".1" is pretty meaningless, so call it:
"about 22 mpg"

Gas Milage is very easy to figure out.
You are wanting Miler Per Gallon.
Or
You are wanting Miles/Gallon.
So..... divide the total Miles Driven by the total Gallons of fuel used, and you have you ESTIMATED MPG.

Where did you find premium 91/93 at $2.37 per gallon? That is the important question !!! ;)

Dude...This is easy.
When you fill up, reset your trip odometer and leave it alone until your next fill up. Then divide that mileage accrued mileage buy the gallons replaced at the pump.
200 miles divided by 10 gallons = 20 miles per gallon, eh?
This was some kind of test, wasn't it...
