URGENT!! Installing U/D pullies question

Hey all,

I'm in the middle of installing the UD pullies and I just removed the factory harmonic balancer bolt and some oil came out. Is this normal? I know the new pulley has silicone sealer on it to keep from leaking, but I want to know if I should be seeing oil when I remove the factory one?

You'll want to hear from a mechanically inclined person on this one...

Mine has leaked ever so slightly after someone put my pullies on. It really aggrivates me at this point.:mad:

If a very small amount came out no biggie, there is no silicone on the new pulley, you put it there yourself on the cut out for the keyway.

I never saw any oil leak when I installed mine or seen any oil leak since.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. Smokie, yes only a little came out. There's already sealer on the new pulley from Rich_Long (Thanks Rich!) I'll continue on with the install...

Mike the existing sealer from the old install will not seal, remove it, clean with alcohol and apply fresh sealant. Javier.
