We have bought a new house North of New Orleans.

Anyone have a garage floor paint they can reccomend?

In my current house I used a Sherwin Williams sold product that was ok. The tires tended to pull it up.

Thanks.

You really need an epoxy to hold. Home Depot has a concrete floor paint.

I used some all-in-one box kit I don't recall now. Came in two cans and I had to mix it, roll it on and then toss down some sprinkle stuff. I skipped the sprinkles.

It's been down two years now and wearing quite well. The tires don't affect it and tire marks clean up nice. Some of the more aggressive engine cleaners will stain it, like that Castrol stuff in the purple bottle. But most spills clean up nicely with brake cleaner and that doesn't bother it a bit.

I suggest you buy throw-away tools and bucket, there's no cleaning up after application, it's tough as nails.

Wish I could remember the name...

Sarge, that sounds like a two-part epoxy. It adheres even better if you acid-etch the surface before applying.

Home Depot or Lowes got mine at Lowes, goto the paint dept. look for concrete stain or paint will say on can the key is to clean the floor very well, before painting and let it dry a minimum of 3 days before you but a car on it.

Mac: How long did it take to apply that ^^ stuff?

Believe it or not, I am in the process of renting a garage and I would like it to look a little slicker (without being slick) than it does now, so I am planning ahead. Thanks.

That's the same stuff I used in my garage up in Dallas..... It's awesome. I loved it... Planning on re-using it here on my Austin Home...

Rustoleum as a product for garages...Hehehe...Seems there is an echo echo in here here.

Marty, it took less than an afternoon to apply. Once mixed in a larger bucket, just pour it on and roll it out. My garage is 10X20, about two hours as I recall. However, it need to set and cure before use, and I gave that 3 days in 70 degree temps. After that, I added the trim and parked the car.

Take a peek?

Just in case you didn't believe everyone else...Rustoleum 2 Part Epoxy, acid etch first. Great floor covering. Easy to use and as Sergnt Mac says hard as nails. Used it in New York, works the same down here....Did I mention Rustoleum??:D Dennis

Just remember, those cans cover only about 200 sq. ft. (10x20) So measure before you buy.
