Since I'm waiting for a couple things now, I'd also like to clean up these ugly radiator hoses. I know what I want, I want the braided line hoses with the anodized ends. Problem is, I don't want cheap chit and wondered if anyone else has tried to do this.

My goal is to get the bottom one to tuck up next to the radiator at the bottom, get the thermostat housing close to the radiator, and clean up the the 4 hoses with nice shiny braided line with red connectors.

Any help in sourcing this is appreciated!

John

From what I heard those braided covers don't hold up very well over time. I'm going to use these

to replace my hoses when I install the Trilogy SC I'm going to win in the raffle..... they have them in colors also.....

FYI fastblackmerc, they sell that same hose at PepBoys for $38 I believe with no shipping charge lol. Just in case you have one near you. I would also like to get some kick azz radiator hoses. My dad is getting some for his F-150 and it should look slick.

Naw...seriously...
If you buy the pre-made hoses from Summit, and NOT the do-it-yourself variety...I am sure they will look nice. Nice like I thought mine would.:P

I think what I need to do is start looking for pictures of ones that do look good and sharing what I find. Barry, what make or brand did you use that you don't like? Maybe this thread is what you've been looking for too!

John there is a new tool out for cutting braided hoses. I gotta go take a leak and get something from the 'fridge. When I get back I will look for it for you.

We expect a full report, counselor!

Back in the day I dated this young lady whose step-father was a detective for the Houston PD. I passed muster with him - and her older brother - at one of their frequent gtg's at their favorite bar. Much alcohol and many fat cigars were consumed, and I managed to stay upright and vomit free, which impressed them. Anywho, after closing time the gathering moved to their house, where we men folk continued to drink at which one point her step dad excused himself to go into the kitchen. Then I heard her mom say something I never heard anyone say before... or since.

"Hon-EEE!! You're pissing the the refridgerator!!!"

Seems he went to the kitchen for something, opened the fridge door, opened the crisper drawer, then, well, you know the rest.

I never ate at their house again, but that incident has made me laugh many times in the years following.

I can attest to the bloody fingers, with the braided coolant lines.
Small price to pay for mods.

Thanks for the link Marty. If I'm not mistaken, I think BillyG might have purchased this set for his monster build. I checked the web site and did not see anything for radiator hoses, But I sure do want a set to use on all the other lines, pending Billy's blessing that is.

Cheers!
