:mad2: Well here is what can put you out of business, so all of you know what its like to try and run a business, Friday we get Sept 2 UPS bill this is for one week, and it is over 700.00 We look at the bill and we sent three Proguards to Hawaii, when I ran the sale and typed in the weight of 7 lbs the shipping ground was 25.84 UPS has added a additional 108.65 X 3 = 324.00 because the package exceeds there new new standard length and girth exceed 108". Pro gaurd has been stuck in the @@###!!! over this to, they were not aware of this till I called them Friday

So you all know we have sold over 300 of these rear skid plates, and UPS has come back and added charges on all of my orders as per example a pro guard sent to MI at 7 lbs was 9.00 if you type in the dimensions its 29.00 to send one to Canada cost 274.00 I am requesting a audit of my account this is some thing we were never told about and to say I am livid is very light:mad2: So all of you know it is going to cost you more to have these sent from now on.

Maybe you should check out prices at another shipper. I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. I hope you can clear this up.

Zoltan there all the same today UPS/ Fedex /DHL I spend a lot of money with UPS and I have been on the phone with them since Friday I would think that UPS would give you a discounted rate because you use them so much. I know a Company I order from in New Jersey get's a 40 % discount on Fedex because they use only them and they sell alota product. They are a very big company but it might be worth a try.

Hi Dennis,

Just got mine today, thank you. The box was 59" long by 27.5" high but the overall size guard itself is only 51" x 18". Maybe Pro-Gard could use a smaller box or maybe you guys could cut it down to a smaller size. Not sure if that would help on the shipping charges. Worth looking into.

I just got screwed the same way by UPS. Their surcharges for non-standard packages bumped the shipping price for a tire an extra $20. That's BS. FedEx Ground is a much better deal.

Dennis: Try FedEx Ground their rates and service are superior to UPS -- on this you can trust me.

We use DHL and don't seem to have the same trouble with such non-sense.

Dennis, I had to send some parts to New Jersey when an order got mixed up. The local UPS Store wanted something outrageous to deliver the package. I went to the US Postal Service and the price was less than half as much. Screw UPS...they've gotten WAY too proud of themselves.

My dad's business only sends odd-sized, extra long boxes (www.snakesticks.com) and he uses United States Postal Service Priority mail for everything. It's a fraction of the cost and works great. I suggest working with the local branch to work out a pick-up arrangement.

There's more than one way to skin a cat. :D

I usually use USPS for shipping unless it real heavy then FedEx.

So now the question will be.... Since UPS is hitting you for the extra cost, How much of that will we the cutomers see on Progaurds???

I don't know about that. the box it came in didn't even survive. the proguard outlasted the box it came in. I picked up the package and the proguard slipped out the bottom. Both ends and the back were completely torn as if they went surfing with it.

Well I can not charge my customers a additional charge, for the orders they have recieved, but the additional charge that UPS is charging me shipping will be passed on for all future orders

Right now this is classified as a OS-2 which means its being billed at 70 lbs
I called Proguard yesterday, and told them exactly what you said if the shorten the width and length it will be in a OS-1 which means it will billed at a 30 lb rate even though it weighs 7 lbs.:bs:

that is still rediculous.......ups just plain sucks... the guy we have at work cant seem to get the red stuff here before his 2 00pm run
when a red is due in before 10 am .the other day he was holding up an engineer and some contractors for the better part of the day with his hijinks and the meter was running...if you call him on it he always has some lame or dumb ass excuse he pulls from his anal cavity and shruggs it off...on the other side , the sender pays a lot extra to get it here for 10, so they are getting screwed too..

Hi Dennis,

Also, UPS charges more to ship to residential addresses. If you decide to stay with UPS, maybe ask the person placing the order if it could be shipped to their work address.

The sender should not pay anything. If it is not there by 10:30, it's free. My company ships a large number of packages UPS everyday, and about 5 NDA's a week. I stay on top of the tracking, and if it is even one minute late, I call customer service and get a credit, no questions asked.

should be on time too as the drivers around here apparently are immune to local traffic laws and speed limits...its entertaining watching them do 30 mph through gas station lots to avoid red lites......

Do you use the UPS software to generate shipments? If you do not, I would strongly suggest getting set up. It is free and UPS wants their customers to go that route. If you do utilize the software, you can pull up any shipment and track instantly. Just a thought. It was night and day when we switched 3 years ago. Good luck.

we are still stuck in the 80 s with a 2006 twist. we still fill out the book for outgoing, but if anyone comes down from engineering or technical or new product development and says "wheres my chit ?" ,we tell them to get tracking number and we will check it s progress online.. it will be this way untill something happens that cost really big bucks and then they will change..."proactive" is part of lost language where i work..............
