This past friday night i was at a friends birthday party for his teen daughter, when one of our brothers (masons):D said to me..."hey, when are you gonna run that marauder with me?" i was like what! My car against your grand marquis? He was like no, i got something for ya this time. He had just bought a 2000 pontiac WS-6 Trans AM from a fellow marine. Then after that for the next tell me of all the goodies on the car, its got a cam, high flow cat, intake etc. Actually i started to think this guy would probally kill my a$$! He had asked me to take him home to get the car cause his wife had to leave early and he wanted to stay at the party longer so off we go to get the "beast". When we get to his house he fires it up for me and man the car sounded like the end of the world, i mean it sounded like a drag car with the rough idle. So we leave his house to head back to the party and i figured that we were gonna run by the time we got back to the party, i mean when we left out of his apartment complex he was sideways!! we get further down the street and i run up beside him at about 50 and he takes off and i follow, we kept this up for about 3 miles or so until finally we came to a stop light. Now this is it, just me and him at the light, no other cars around, radar detector shows no "threats", he starts to rev up and i just sit there, clicked the traction control off and waited for the light...we the light turned green i stomped it, got a little wheel spin but then i was out the hole and gone leaving him by about two car lengths, i looked in the rearview and hes getting smaller and smaller then at about 90 i let off and a sec or two he goes screaming by. when we got back to the party he was like "man, that big b**ch is fast!" but i would have gotten you if i hadn't starting spinning the wheels...well to me a kill is a kill, but i'm sure i be running him again...all i have to say is thanks dennis for the stageI kit...now i need that supercharger.:bows:

Man, I didn't expect you to take a WS-6. Those *****ers are fast. Hmm, could you tell me what's in a DR "Stage 1" kit?

Cool race but if he would have hooked on the street he would have smoked you bad. You have the mods I do and the Pontiac is still a second faster.

A stock Trans Am WS6 weighs about 3400 lbs and has a 5.7 liter LS1 that puts out 320 hp / 345 torque. It can run 0-60 in about 5 seconds and run the 1/4 mile in 13.5 seconds at 107 mph. You let off before you covered a 1/4 mile. I'd call it a do over.

What would a stock Marauder run with just those mods? Low 14's?

I believe it could run a 13.9. I remember a MM&FF issue with Marauders in a shootout and one guy broke into the 13's and the only mods listed were 4.10's and a chip.

I can attest to the speed of a WS-6. Ran one this last Friday, smoked me from the 1/8 on. he ran a 13.2, I rolled in at a 14.21. Out of my league but I had him through the 60'.

DR tune, u/d's, Kook's, will run 14.038 @ 99.9x, with stock gears and 100K+ on the odometer. Have a slip to prove it. The mph/ET chart says that speed with proper tranny and chasis tuning says that speed should be 13.2 sec.
