Can this bracket be removed? See attached. Not sure what their function is. There are two of them, one on each side of the frame near the front of the car. I'm trying to shave any excess weight.

Is that required, to be removed?
Does it serve any purpose?

I dremeled the driver's side bracket off of my Marauder to allow a nice spot to place my remote mount oil filter.

The only reason its removed on the water to air is because of the tubing that runs to the RH fendor well

Cigarette lighter....
probably weighs about the same as that bracket...and you shouldn't smoke in your Marauder anyway....and I'm a smoker (but not in my Marauder)

If you are that worried about weight reduction on a 4400 LB four door sedan...just hang a big crap* before you drive and you've already saved a pound each time!
Plus your drive will be much more relaxed.

You'd be amazed what a good dump will do to your quarter mile ET's.

I always wondered what they were for originally.

Pulling the chassis down the assembly line.

I was thinking they were for when the car is towed by a flat bed to tie the car down.

May work for that, too, but original purpose is assembly line.

Those brackets are also useful for pulling an upside-down Marauder out of a lake, I'd keep them just in case. You wouldn't want to risk bending or scratching anything else after your Marauder was rolled would you?

This is what the tow driver used them for on my car.
I'd leave them unless the intercooler is in the way.

I saw that bracket yesterday and didn't know what it was for. Still curious if anyone knows.
