What A Ride so Far – 36,000 miles
The BLUERAUDER is just 3 weeks shy of 3 years from the date that I first saw it on the dealer’s lot. It was “Love at First Sight”. Today, the odometer settled onto 36,000 miles exactly as I pulled into my parking space at work.. In that time, she’s seen 12 oil/filter changes, 2 transmission services, and 2 sets of tires. Other than the replacement of 2 wiper motors for the “wacky wiper” syndrome, I can’t say that I have had any problems even worth mentioning. I love this car and enjoy it as much today as the day I brought her home. It makes every trip … Fun !!!
Three years ago I bought a car that I liked. I knew it was special at the time. However, I didn’t really know how special it was until I found this site and the people associated with it. The Marauder family here on the MM.Net is indeed as unique as the car itself. The level of knowledge and experience on the car is unmatched anywhere. We’re a family and a club and for some … an obsession. The site is well run and generally under control. While we don’t always see everything eye-to-eye; we all agree on the choice of car … whether it is Blue, Silver Birch, DTR or Black. The rest of the “stuff” is just background noise.
In 3 short years I have met quite a few MM owners and car enthusiasts. Since finding the site, I’ve met almost monthly with the Capital Area Marauders (CAM) on the local level and they are all a great bunch of folks who I consider friends. I’ve been to drag strips, car shows, and other events featuring MMs and their owners. Meets at the national level are always well organized and well attended and I look forward to Marauderville IV in Orlando in November and meeting more members of the MM Club. In some cases, I’ll be putting faces to screennames for the first time in over 30 months. :)
So, here’s to 36K and to many more miles of enjoying that Marauder Grin. Thanks to everyone … and thanks to MercuryMarauder.net for making this association possible. :toast:
