three days ago..... 12:10pm
Im driving on 46....
I pull up to a trail of cars behind a red light.....What do I see? A purple 96 SS up ahead.....
Not going to let this opportunity up.
After minutes of weaving and stop-and-go things. WE FINALLY HIT THE FRONT OF A RED LIGHT.....
Opposite street's light turns yellow....then RED
The light in front of us turns GREEN!!
I GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOO
Except he doesn't...hes on his cell chatting it up.....
10 minutes later I see a fellow Marauder parked in front of a wheel shop...Will we see new wheels anytime soon guys?!?!
What a day.

i'm sorry to say that you just posted that worthless tidbit of information. I reallly don't mean any offense by this, but by bobbing and weaving through traffic to catch up to a vehicle for a race, you have very quickly annoyed dozens of motorists and shown them your "ricer" roots. Besides that, you didn't even attempt to get the other drivers consent or acknoweldgement for a heads up race off of the light. PLUS... submitting yourself to a consentual race on a public road here in NJ will land you a minimum of 5pts on your DL with hge fines and insurance surcharges. If you are going to take the risk, why not think "safety" and do it when there isn't any traffic around? AGAIN, I mean no disrespect, but i think actions like that are completely irresponsible. SAVE IT FOR THE TRACK OR OTHER CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT.

Oh god, here we go....flame on, fellas
its a storyboard, not all of these stories have a point
There have been a multitude of stories with no 'incredible climaxes' Im just saying, unlike most owners, they dont have a chance to get up with the Direct competitor
And you have so many others just comparing how theyre doing low 100s and WHATEVER speeds with other cars and do they get crap?
Dont ever compare me to a ricer. Me weaving wasnt me going crazy like a friggin Civic with a fart can.
Im sorry if im taking u calling my info worthless, buddy, but honestly i dont care, i dont even know you
But anyway, i dont need to explain myself to u guys.

like i said, "no offense" and "no disrespect"...
and by the way, alot of people that posted their top speeds did recieve crap over it.... maybe you didnt read the entire thread. I believe the words/phrases "irresponsible" and "unsafe for public roads" were used many times.
nuthin personal... just an opinion

Grand Marquis with the heart of a corbra. 302 hp is not meant to drive like a Tarus. Drive how you may, because I am as long as it's safe. GM come in different trim models, so use those muscle car ponies you optioned for Constable.

Drive it like it's stolen!
It USED to be so "civil" around here...yeah...some "ribbing" here and there...all in good fun. But, not some of the "venom" that I just read.
Let's keep it light, fun and informative boys. Not trying to play moderator...just wanted to say what I felt needed to be said.

I agree with Todd. The last couple of weeks around here people seem to be getting in one anothers faces. That is not in the spirit of this board, the majority of the members and its moderators. Lets keep it civil please. Its what makes this place heads and shoulders above the rest on the web.

I hear all of you, and again I will say it, I meant no offense or disrespect. I, too, enjoy the ponies under my hood and use them to their limit, pick up small races on a saturday night, etc...
I just think it's better to play safe and in a time of minimal traffic. Other drivers dont expect a 4200lb missle to be coming past them at 70-80 mph. Reaction time / reaction distance comes into play. Although our vehicles handle superbly and are fast as all hell, they dont stop on a dime, carve corners, or have blistering acceleration. In true emergency situations (like a car pulling out in front of you when you're WOT on a congested public road) it's not too hard to push our MM's past their liimits.
My main concern for the past few posts has not bee to "burn" anyone, especially Reaper. From what I have seen in his posts, he is a very motivated young man who is very willing to learn from others. He's asked loads of relevant questions and is a fellow Jersey Boy (which makes him ok in my book).
What I'm getting at is SAFETY. I've pulled the covers over countless bodies at accident scenes. 5 since january, 13 last year, and god knows how many before that. I would just like to make sure that staying safe (and keeping other motorists safe) is the first thing in your minds. You all have helped me a great deal with the info posted in these forums. I want all of you to stay safe. Race all you want. I will (and do). But go home to your families in one piece.

it was a story that could have hapened. if you beat him it would have been questions up the butt as to how it was done. but thats ok. i would have done the same thing. the courage was there. and the adrenaline. and you'll always have a better car

All I gotta say is pull it together, and quick! You all KNOW what you can post on here that'll set someone off and what won't. The kid told a story, so what? If someone thinks his actions were THAT irresponsible, then PM him. No need for public ridicule. I'm sure he took responsible actions to get to the driver, although he didn't get his attention before going for it.
Anyway, this thread is useless now because of the tone set by some, so it's closed. Thank you, and have a nice day!
