View Full Version : Gods Head for steering wheel

Ron

On ebay, item# 2416488649.
Looks good, ordered (2).
Is this someone here?
Is this old news?

Sorry I don't know how to attach the link.
I searched for M/M & found them as the last item on that page.

Such an item was brought up in Looking's Thread: Gods Head
Badges, again.

Some guys are cutting out a decal to stick over the the original steering wheel badge. You can see photo on the Thread that I referenced.

The ones now on ebay appear to be a much more professional
option.

I want 2...I'm not an "ebayer" and don't really want to be...anyone want to do a deal with me? You purchase and then deal with me?

Hey Todd-thanks for thinking of ordering two whenever--the other one--for me right--what a pal.....yeah thats the ticket!

I'd like to do the same thing. I'm not an e-bay person either. Any takers?

Ebay is easier than dealing with anyone else. All you need is a credit card. It takes about 10 minutes to sign up and purchase these.

It just seems easier to me for everyone to sign up and buy their own than to have someone buy them and then have to deal with taking money for everyone and postage, etc..

Just my $0.02. Ebay is very easy to use and it doesn't cost you anything to have an account.

Of course, if someone wants to donate their time and effort for this then more power to them. I just bought two and it took me about 30 seconds to have them paid for and on the way.

I have no clue how EBay works.... I was just lucky when i found the badges --- partially from Ron's original directions on where he located them.

E-Bay is very easy to use. The interface is very user-friendly. Once you open an account, buying stuff is no harder than buying from any other Internet company. Start off with stuff that has a Buy-It-Now price. Then move on to actual bidding. Once you lose on a few items you will understand the bidding strategy. For instance, I never make the first bid on anything. I watch it to see how the auction is going. Bid the MAXIMUM amount you are willing to pay for something. If you REALLY REALLY want it, bid higher. E-Bay uses proxy bidding to bid up to your maximum price in fixed increments. Pay attention to the ending time of the auction. I usually make my final bid no more than 5 minutes before the end of the auction. Then make it high enough (again as much as you are willing to pay) so that another bidder has to work to outbid you in a limited amount of time. I probably win 75% to 85% of the things I bid on. The big thing to remember is: HOW MUCH ARE YOU WILLING TO PAY FOR AN ITEM.

I've never sold anything yet, but probably will soon.

And it is very addictive.

Yep. That's how I've usually lost.

"All's fair in love, war, and E-Bay bidding."

Seriously though, I've gotten a lot of good and sometimes rare items for very low prices.

Do any of you think this will mess up the air bag??? I know none of us want to get into a car crash but is this a safety issue? I want one but was wondering about it.

TAF

The airbag actually deploys on the horizontal seam that runs the length of the wheel under the badge about an inch or so. The badge and the "flap" fly back towards the windshield during deployment. Unfortunately, you can see this in some of the accident pics that have been posted here.

slowpoke has ordered 3.

If it wasn't for the fact that my wife had a baby a month ago, UI woulda manufactured these, matching t-shirts, windbreakers, golf hats, front grill badges, rear badges, a full assortment of decals, removable tattoos, condoms, and a host of other goodies.

alas, family first, work second, MM third.

I am the seller of these decals and they are professionally manufactured. The idea came from many of the posts on this site and I felt the waterfall just does not do it for me. It took a couple of months of trial & error with the manufacturer but I finally got what I wanted. I am selling what is left over at about my cost without any of my time & effort included. I felt you all would appreciate them and am not looking to make money on them. I hope those lucky enough to get one will enjoy them.

how do you recess mount it and give it that concave look without damaging the air bag?

MI2QWK4U
05-22-2003, 04:28 PM
Thanks to AG3R, looks great...got mine. Do you think the people that manufactured these for the steering wheel could manufacture covers for the front and rear badges? It would be so much easier to silicone a cover over those instead of digging out the dremmel tool. What do you think about that idea?

I am not sure how it works to sell these on this site but I sold them at my cost. I could raise the price a little and would be willing to donate the difference to the site. I was not looking to make money off them just offer them to fellow owners. Maybe Sarge or MartyO can E-mail me and let me know what they recommend. E-mail is a3gr@aol.com.

A3GR, I will e-mail you but I think you should PM Logan and/or LML as to the ethics of selling on site. You might want to put a hold on it 'till you talk to Sarge/Marty.

I've tried to get registered on e-bay to buy several items mentioned here many times and to even try to be a contributing member--but the e-bay system keeps kicking me out with stupid referrals about password or something else--so I gave up --the hell with it..after 6-8 tries..I'll wait till another time...screw it...
