For your info.

Those of you that bought this kit will need to replace the element,
gasket, filter holder, O ring, & deflector after awhile as it gets clogged.
Steeda and others only sell the origional complete separator kit.
The separator ( Particulate Filter ) is made by the Parker Automation Co.
and the rebuild kit is a PS407.
Various dealers across the US sell it but with min. $ amounts.
One co. will sell one each etc.
It was Hose & Fittings Etc. 1-800-536-1520

As long as it looks just like this (http://www.supermotors.net/vehicles/registry/7603/50459), you can get the "rebuild kit" at Lowes or similar for less than $10. For $20 @ Lowes you can have an entirely new unit with new filter/o-ring/etc. pre-installed.

The Steeda seperator is just a air-compressor water seperator, with the labels taken off. Also, if you are using them, I would ditch those nylon hosebarbs in favor of some brass ones. In a few years time they will deform and crack from engine heat and can give you a hard time with vacuum leaking.

Drock,

Many thanks - I will check out Lowes for sure and yes on the
brass hosebarbs.

Thanks Again,

Will this filter help reduce the carbon building up on the throttle body and in the intake?

Hey Jarod! Hows the tune been (update that sig! :D)

mrjones, the PCV vaccum is drawn after the t/b, so it won't effect that. But AFAIK, like the 2vs it is drawn into the bulk of the intake manifold and can leave oil residue coating. THe better your PCV valve is start with (I would use Motorcraft and no other) the less chance there is of the PCV sucking up oil. But in some occurances, especially when running f/i, the vacuum is so great the PCV can suck up large amounts of oil.
I installed mine for no real reason, I had one, so I put it on for the hell of it. I noticed it has acumulated ~1/8" of oil in the bowl.

warren; I was at my local Lowes this evening. I only scanned quickly but I did not spot the new filter kit as an in-stock item anymore (I doubt they sold many) Some locations may have it though, and I assume it can still be purchased online from Lowes, or directly from Campbell Hausfield.
If I cannot locate the filter change kit, I will likely just continue to swap entire units. At $20 it isn't to pricey and then I start nice & fresh, shiny
and new :D

Finally gor the replacement elements-2ea. in and took out the old,
totally plugged up one.
The only reason I noticed it was plugged was there was
some clear liquid in the bowl, H2O. Otherwise did not see it was not working.
The orig. filter is a poly material that turned brown and got rock hard!!!
It did not flow at all.
Also went to Lowes and they were out of the replacement kit so I
just got a whole new seperator. $20.
The element is a metal one made of brass. BETTER! So I used it.
Did not install the whole new seperator as I already had the
old one on different bracket. BUT I did clean the bowl and
used the new metal brass element and it works fine.
It's a better piece. Still have to empty the see-thru bowl every 2wks.

Just noticed JLT's new Pre-Filter that does the same thing and
I think it might require less maintence ???
It comes in solid Blk or Slvr. I will have to call Jay.

Warren,
Just got a MM and checked it out. It fits the drivers side, but not the passanger side. I think there will be a hood clearance issue on the passanger side.
Let me know what you think when you get yours.
