:D

Well ladies and gents, we had a great time at the Cecil County Dragway tonight. We had 5 Marauders racing and special guest star, MarauderMark with his beast - not yet ready for the track.

The Marauders put up a good fight, but 11's were not to be had tonight :(

I'll let the participants post their slips - except Bob. :P

Ol Defyant Marauder ran great tonight. All my slips were 12.1xx. My best RT was .002

Bob had the best time of the night - on paper anyways  . I can post his times because we raced each other. And what an awsome race it was too! We did a burnout that was draggster style quality. We each roll up and staged. The lights fell and we were off.

Here is where things get hinky :beatnik:

However, eveyone agrees I crossed the finish line first  . I am told the billboard lit up with my results first. How the slips show these times are a mystery to me - but frankly it doesnt matter since we all had a great time. :)

For those of you who do not know, both cars are set up almost identical. Infact, aside from the JLT on my car and the K&N on his car, I think they are exactly the same.

So my hats off to my bud Bob for running a damm good race. We need to do this again gentlemen!

Great times, amazing what cooler temps and lower humidity can do.

We just had our 1st cold front and I am looking fwd to racing in the next few weeks.

Subtract the difference between your reaction times and add this to Bob's 1/4time, then subtract your 1/4 time from Bobs 1/4 time and this is how much you beat Bob by.

Sounds like a great time. Very close race. Charlie, next meet I need a ride in your car. Need to feel what a 3.0 pulley is all about.

Great runs! In my opinion, these cars' configurations are exactly how a Marauder should be built up :)

Congrats to both Bob and Charlie. Wish I could have seen that run in person.

Looks like you actually crossed the finish line 0.039 seconds ahead of Bob. Based on your trap speed, the Defyant Marauder's front bumper should have crossed the line about 6.55 feet ahead of CheeseheadBob's (about the length of the hood). What did it look like to you??

His car was a hair faster on that run; but you were quicker on the get go. :D Wish that I could have made it there.

As cool as the evenings have been, I was surprised that you didn't get at least one run in the 11s. Lots of water in the air though with the humidity.

Nice. thanks for the report on your great run with the Cheesehead. I don't know if I will ever learn how to do this as well as you guys but that doesn't mean I shouldn't try. Got to do more work on the Fruitpunch. Send some cool weather down here. See you at the track. :burn: Dennis

Charlie,

It took you longer to cover the quarter, but you caught the train about 200th before Bob. So while he was faster, you were much quicker on the draw!

In other words even though he caught up, you still physically arrived before Bob.

All I can say is chicken faaaaaaaaaaaaaaarm!!!:chicken: :chicken::chicken::chicken::ch icken::chicken:

Hate you guys for your 59f temps..... we might be lucky to get into the mid 70's by the end of next month.....

I wish I could be a fly on the wall, but the 125-mile trip after rush hour would have killed the day for me. Looks like you all had a great time. Sherman (Trilogy #96) just put a 03 Cobra bottom end on his car and a 2.8 pulley. I drove his cars a couple of weeks ago. It was my first cruse in a Marauder with a power adder. I am glad to see MarauderMark attend. Hope someone took pictures. See ya next time.

Thats too bad.
The lower compression isreally gonna slow him down.

I am no expert, but he claims to have his car running in the high 11's with his current setup. I don't think speed was his traget goal. He left parts of the stock motor at Mason Dixon Dragway a few months back.

I believe Sherm said that he was running 14-15 pounds of boost with his new bottom end. When I spoke to him on the Friday night before the Cowles Car Show, he said his best run to date was 11.7.

If he is running a Cobra bottom end, then he has all the options the Cobra have. Like a Wipple ;)

Anyway... Thanks for the responses. From the start line to the finish line Bobs bumper didn't pass my drivers door. :baaa:

Mark has the pics from last night - I forgot my video camera  !

According to the numbers you provided, Bob's front license plate holder should have been even with your side view mirror (6.55 feet) at the 1320' line :D

WOW! That was one helluva drag race...

You guys were right next to each other the whole race!:banana2:

Two, two ton beasts running 12 flats, side by side....man do I wish I could have made it up to see everyone run.

Now I'm itchin' to go Drag Racing.
I'm going to try to hit Capitol Raceway tomorrow night (Friday) for Test & Tune.

Congratulations to both of you guys, that race had to be the highlight of the evening!!! WOW side by side 12 flat, I'm impressed.:banana2: .

I think somebody asked earlier about who would be considered the winner with that timeslip, if there were a bet on the race. My opinion of; who wins any side by side race is very simple...the one that crossed the finish line first wins.

If you raced at different times and not heads up, the winner is fastest E/T.:D
