PAINT crazing at 53k

yeah so my dad comes in today and says come here. go out side and his hood is crazing pretty bad:eek: . cars never been reshot. ill get pics later but anyone else having this problem

Had similar problem at 26k,car repainted under
warranty..Long debate with dealership they claimed
it was fallout!Common problem with the Black paint.?

There are a few members that have had the cracking paint. I just for my dealership to authorize it to get repainted under warranty, but, they are only giving $1250.00. Most bodyshops won't touch it for that amount!

could i have just the hood reshot since thats the only problem area

It should be a lot easier to convince them to repair the
hood only!My repairs where the whole car and a door jam
because the paint was peeling right of..

I've learned via getting estimates, if the hood is repainted, they repaint the two front fenders to "blend in" the new paint. But if you are paying for it, you can find a shop to do as much or as little to your car.

I still think it's funny that the Ford and Mercury dealers I went to looked at my defective paint and called it, "normal."
