One is for the Mach 1. She is getting a built motor by Lidio. At the time of the engine swap, I am also putting on one of the 2.4 or 2.6L Kenny Bell blowers with Meth injection. A few suspension mods and it will be a brutal mid 10 second brawler.
The other was for the Marauder, but I don't think I'm going to build it now. Anyone want a new in the box aluminum 4.6 dohc block?

Two things:
1. Is the block just a factory replacement block?
2. When did you start using the word "brawler"? That's so not like you, Dave! LOL!
How much for the block?

John,
It is a brand new Replacement aluminum block, described as an "aluminum 4.6L 4V engine block" and lists for $1350 in the Ford Racing Catalog. One of them is going in the Mach 1 for sure. I intend to pull the Mach 1 motor and leave it intact on an engine stand in case I should ever want to revert back to the stock motor setup. This way I can build up my motor and blower setup over the winter and just drop it in and be done with it.
If I don't end up doing the Marauder, I will probably sell the second block. I didn't pay $1350 for it, and I will sell it for what I have into it.

WOW! I was going to say that over-the-counter replacement blocks are only $300... Is that a super-special version of some sort?

You know, I don't know why it lists for so much. The cast iron 4.6 block lists for only $325, while the aluminum one that I have lists for $1350. The cast iron 5.4 blocks are only $499 while the aluminum 5.4 block is $2795! All 4 of these blocks claim to be fully machined production replacement motors. What 4.6 block can you get for $300?

I got my cast iron Cobra block for $300 from MMR when they built my motor. At that time, I had a choice of either cast iron or aluminum for the same cost. I chose the cast iron because Ford did for the blown Cobra. Turns out I could probably have saved the weight with all the aluminum 4.6's pushing really big numbers, but I still went iron.

FYI, I just checked MMR's web site and see that the aluminum block is now a +$399 option over the cast iron Cobra block. So, that puts it at about $699? I'd have to as Ray "The Dealer" what over-the-counter is on one to be sure I guess.
if it was me and I paid more than $699 for them I would send them back and save my money for some forged goodies to stuff in there. YMMV.

Aluminum blocks are on special at Modular Fords.com for $500 right now.
