For those who have replaced their guages, or thought about it, did you get all full-sweep or a mix of full/short sweep?

I'm going to start replacing mine for Ultra-Lite II's...boost guage no problem, but looking at the oil pressure there is when the dilemna starts...

For electrical guages, you can get the short sweep for about $75....

Or the full sweep for $200.

Ok obviously I would rather the full sweep...but that's $125 difference. Adds up when you're wanting to add more like volts, and then trans temp and maybe fuel pressure.

So going from a stock oil pressure guage to a short sweep REAL guage is a definite upgrade for engine monitoring. Going full sweep adds a bit better view.

Is it worth going that way? Going from a "looks" perspective, is it wierd having a mix of full and short sweep guauges?

Thanks for your thoughts/opinions!

Go with the short sweep gauges primarily because of the cost. The big money gauge for you is Air/Fuel (Wideband). The others are nice gadgets that offer limited information. When my first engine died my oil pressure gauge was not helpful. Tranny temps are helpful for hot days and long trips, but offer useless information at the track. Most Autometer gauges are not accurate.

Thanks for tips I agree with the wideband a/f.

Right now I want a real oil pressure guage and the night look of the ultralite II's so I think I'll start with a short sweep oil and full sweep mechanical boost (direct swap for my current one.)

You might consider digital. Easy to read with a quick glance. I have the Nordskog green LED type and are quite happy with them.
