I moved my seats foward to put a baby seat in the back and the seats locked in in the most foward position possible. My electric gas door release and power pedals won't move either. My windows and locks still work. I replaced the #602 fuse in the engine compartment but still no luck. Also, the #602 fuse was hot!!! The new fuse I put in became hot the minute I reconnected the battery. Please help...my seat is all the way foward so I can drive to work tomorrow. :mad2:

I am surprised no one has answered you yet.

I don't have a clue either. But from the sound of things, it may be the switch on the door.

Check the seat motor harness connection under the seat for power.

Perhaps you can jump a lead to the forward sensor and get it to move without opening up the door panel.

Thanks...I just loaded it up on a wrecker. I couldn't figure it out. I'll let the pros and the warranty take of it. Thanks again.

Just off the top'o'the head.....

Under seat motor connectors may have come loose.
Seat motors(s) are jammed.
Something caught in the seat track.
Bad seat switch.
Shorted seat motor wire.

You mentioned that the fuses was hot... that leads me to think there is a short somewhere.

Hot Fuse! Electric is working....Motor/track is jammed.

My best guess is a Quarter is stuck in the track (maybe a Nickle)...

Hot fuse, methink short...but no electrician.

Don't you think if it were a short, the fuse would blow? I think there is too much draw in the motor. Enough to heat the fuse element, but not enough to blow it.

I think something is jammed. The motor wants to move something, thus drawing current; but can't move it, thus heating the fuse due to too much high draw.

I'm no electrician either, just what makes sense to my simple mind....

Sounds like the seat went to far forward and the track got jammed or the drive gear on the motor got out of its grove from going beyond the stopping point.

Hope you disconnected the battery. There could have been a fire. Sounds to me like the seat got stuck going forward. Kinda like if you keep your finger on the button after the seat stops moving forward, but the seat does not cut the power.

Thanks guys. The dealership found the problem about an hour ago. A wire in the passenger seat wiring harness has been rubbing against some unknown object and it finally shorted. They said they went ahead and rerouted both the front driver and pasenger harnesses to keep this from happening again.

Everybody watch out!!!! I disconnected the battery when I found the hot fuse, but I think things could have been bad. The fuse was hot enough that I almost burned my "wittlle finga." :)
